Patio was removed and reinstalled in a timely fashion but after the first rainstorm we experienced water in our basement for the first time after being in our home for 25 years. Owner came back to inspect the job and admitted that the patio was installed draining toward our home which lead to the water in our basement. Owner charged us an additional $500 to repair his error. Which the effort wasn't successful but still was billed for the entire $500. We were very unhappy with this lackluster attempt at repairing contractor error.

Excellent performance and service. Of the 5 concrete companies i contacted, Bright Mann's estimate was the most expensive, but also clearly the most service oriented company and their estimate was the most detailed. We were able to negotiate the price downward by splitting the difference between their price and the next closest competitor's. We also agreed to pay them in cash on the day it was completed. It was worth every penny. Wonderful team! Great attention to detail. I was so happy to see them take the landscaper's plans and precisely measure every curve and distance. They also extended rebar to the foundations of the garage wall so the sidewalk would not drift with soil movement. They wisely and delicately installed concrete around a downspout which was pre-existing. They even installed a sleeve for the dog's invisible fence wire. Some delays due to weather but I couldn't be happier with the results, Especially the drain area.

All work was done well. Caulking continues to hold almost a year later. Was responsive and dependable.

They have been great. They are good about getting out giving quotes. They are good about getting out doing the work. They do what they say they are going to do. They got the job completed. There was no delay or anything. They tried their best to match the old bricks.

Matthew was punctual, polite, easy to communicate with, and sensitive to my concerns about dust creation from the job. He provided a very reasonable quote and executed the job on time. The quality of the work was excellent and I was very happy with the experience overall. I plan to work with them again.

With Matthew's consultation, we expanded the porch with poured concrete into a pleasing curve. Again, with Matthew's consultation, we elected to use a higher grade bluestone border around the edge of the porch. There was much conversation and measuring concerning the step heights. Work proceeded on schedule as suggested by Matthew, and completed in good course. Clean up was good. Typical construction damage was minimal. If you are looking for good design and a job done right, proceed with confidence.

Matthew Fulbright was very professional and pleasant to work with. He provided a very detailed proposal. Much more detailed than the other contractors that provided bids. The price was competitive with the other proposals. His professionalism and attention to details made me feel confident. He worked with me to help me select the material for the wall and the colors for the driveway. Matthew contacted me regularly throughout the project to keep me informed and answer any questions
The crew was also very professional. They arrived early each day and cleaned up at the end of the workday. I am very happy with the quality of the work. I would highly recommend this company.

The top step of our porch was cracked and crumbling but the inspection showed the rest of the porch and walk was in good condition. They were able to cut out our top step, repour it, and match it almost exactly to our exisiting, very old porch. They also treated the rest of the porch and walkway to a weatherizing treatment to prevent any additional erosion. They did the work on time and came back several times to double check the work. Highly professional. I've waited to review the company because there were some white spots on the porch after the treatment that they said they would address in the spring if they didn't go away. Luckily, they did. Because it has been so long, I don't really recall how much it cost, so the amount above is just a rough estimate. I would recommend this company again, though! Great job and very professional.

Went very well. Took us through the procedure step by step of what was to be done in an extremely professional manner. Was introduced to the workers and told whaqt their jobs were. Everyone was on time and efficient at what they were doing. I would certainly retain their services again.

Matt had great ideas. We were very happy with the work. They did a great job and worked every day until from start to finish.

My experience was very negative. The owner is a very difficult personality to deal with. Consequently, his bid did not include a lot of stuff so he ended up costing us a lot of money. They mishandled dealing with our irrigation system so it cost us an extra $500 to fix that. They did fairly poor quality work, as they had to come back a few times. We're fairly dissatisfied.

I was very happy with my interaction with them so far. I'm going to need to get another bid as it is a big job and a pricey proposition. I have no clue as to stay with them or not. They were way out of line price wise. I will say that they seem very professional and their bid was very detailed. Their description of the job had a very in-depth proposal. The gentleman I dealt with was very professional and he seemed like he really knew what he was doing. I checked them again on Angie's list before I called them again to update this bid and they do have an A in there. They were very responsive. Contractors these days could be going under which makes it more important than ever to check what their work is currently and there were really no current reports on Bright- Mann. I decided to call them and see how they would respond to me. That would help me determine if I have to use them or not. I plan to ask him when I meet him for some recent references.

They did a nice job and the follow-up was very good. They paid attention to detail and seemed to be very well-managed. We are very happy with the finished product.

The workers began on the afternoon that the contract was signed!!! Every step proceeded as described to me and the cleanup at the end of every day was remarkable. Even my neighbors were pleased. The work, with exception of the concrete sealing, was done within one week.

Originally we thought this company was professional and completed work on time and on budget. There was a huge error of judgment made by the Foreman. At the end of one work day, the crew forgot to put the downspout on the front of our house. It flooded our brand new finished and carpeted basement. We had to hire a cleaners to come in and remove water, run dehumidifiers and clean carpets with antibacterial spray. Most of the cost was paid by Bright-Mann's insurance company. Then, we got more rain in late summer after the job was completed and water was backing up into our garage due to the unlevel paving in our driveway. This cost an additional $400 to repair and we were charged for this - it should have been the contractor's responsibility to make sure the surface worked the way it should. And last but not least, now six months later, we found out when we went to turn on the in-ground sprinkler system that the crew severed a line which now accounts for why our water bills jumped 33% and 66% in the last two quarters of 2007. And finally, we had to pay to have the line replaced. When I called Matthew to ask for his assistance in repairing the damage his crew had done he refused stating they are not responsible for any in-ground sprinkler lines being severed during construction. We made maps available to them before the project started and the sprinkler company came out and marked the property before they started. We figure working with Bright-Mann cost us and additional $5,000 more than it should have. And it is very unpleasant to have enduring problems all due to the fact they their communication between clients, crew and management does not exist. Had we been notified that the water line had been severed we would have repaired it immediately whether Bright-Mann was willing to pay for their mistake or not. Instead they covered it up. Did not tell us of the problem. And then lied to us stating they used orange spray paint on the ground to show us there was a problem. We never saw any orange paint. Even if we had seen it we would not have known what it was for. We can no longer recommend this company as the experience has dragged on nine months following the initial work we had done. It just never ends. . .

After the project was complete on July 10th 2007, he advised us to wait a few months. They did a good job but there is a spot that is leaking. We sent a letter to Mr. Fulbright In March and another one in April of 2008 and have not heard from anyone.
Response from Bright Mann Contracting Inc
"We were contacted by your member in regards to water getting in their basement. We evaluated the problem and told them we felt a French drain would help. We installed the drain and it did help but did not solve the whole problem. We were paid in full and told member that, that was all we could do. We recommended they call a waterproofing company; something we don't do. We have contacted them but they do not return phone calls."

I was the one who graded them a "D" before on a previous report. Unfortunately Angie's List doesn't seem to allow one one amend or rescind reports. Anyways, they did contact me back and did an extensive project to alleviate the water drainage of the house. They were completely professional from beginning to end and I would gladly recommend them in an instant.

These guys were just great. Tim Eschmann did everything from the initial estimate to the final walk through. The crew was friendly and cooperative and really takes pride in their work, which was top-notch. During the project, I had a change order to include removal of asphalt from my garage floor and Matthew and Tim quickly came out to assess the work and gave me a prompt and fair price on the additional labor and materials.

Outstanding company. This was the most involved home engineering project we have ever had done. Matthew is honest, hard working and diligent about getting the job done correctly the first time. Complete customer satisfaction is their priority. We interviewed six companies before we agreed to take Bright-Mann's bid which was the highest but most thorough assessment and most effective plan to eliminate all water related issues that could affect our home. Every other company we interviewed who purported to offer the same services had different areas of expertise and only wanted to sell us what they offered, without properly assessing what we needed to accomplish our objective to keep water outside where it belongs.

I couldn't have been more pleased! The final product is stunning. Matt returned my call and was on site for a bid survey the next day. I received a bid withing a week and we coordinated beginning the project around the weather. These guys are awesome to say the least. Communication is great. I knew what was going to happen and when. Every step of the process was explained. The work was done in stages so as not to interfere with our entering and exiting our home. Ben and his crew were very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Every effort was made to minimize damage to existing flower beds and lawn. They even planted grass seed along the sidewalk where the forms were put in! I can't wait to have a barbecue and show off our new space!

Overall an excellent experience. Matthew Fulbright planned the job with me and there was a lot of interaction over the details. He made some good suggestions that I hadn't thought of and has a good aesthetic sense. He explained the process of the job and things like how cold weather can impact the ability to pour concrete (the job was done in December). Once the job started the crew were very efficient, kept working continuously apart from a few days where they couldn't due to the weather. They were also very considerate and a pleasure to deal with. The foreman was Matthew Millikan who was extremely courteous and helpful. One very small niggle - at the end of the job, the bare earth that needed re-grassing was only very roughly smoothed over before being seeded. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

My husband had seen a number of projects in our neighborhood (near Wash. U.) by Bright-Mann, so we gave them a call regarding our own. Working with Bright-Mann was a pleasurable experience. From working with Matthew Fullbright at the planning stages, to working with the installers, everyone was attentive and very service and customer oriented. They had good ideas and were also flexible when we had ideas we wanted to implement. There are many details to consider with a project like this. Matthew was great at walking through all the steps with patience and concern for a good end result. As for the installers, even my neighbors commented as to what nice guys they were. They were here for several weeks while doing this fairly large job, so that was important. Stamped concrete is an investment. Bright-Mann's professionalism, service, product and responsiveness represent a good value.
