Marc Ekhause is the most professional, thorough, and pleasant home inspector I've had the pleasure of doing business with. I would rate him A+++++, five stars, A number 1! Marc spend approximately five hours inspecting the property I have under contract. He asked me to meet him at the property for the last thirty minutes, though I ended up meeting with him for well over an hour. Marc has an eye for detail. He highlighted all of the strengths of the home I plan to purchase and was very thorough with the things that need attention. He provided an extremely detailed report with 307 pictures! That's not a typo - I just counted 307 pictures (it's a big house). With 307 pictures the 77 page report might sound overwhelming, but it's not! The pictures are worth a thousand words and Marc's brief description of what he inspected and notes regarding recommendations are clear, easy to understand, and very detailed. My recommendation, don't buy a home without first contacting Marc Ekhause at HomeInspectionSpringfield.com to check it out! I recommend his work without hesitation! Marc has been a home builder for many years and his knowledge and eye for detail will be appreciated as you make a decision on purchasing a home.

He took the time to answer any questions we had and addressed anything we noticed very honestly, a most important factor in working with a home inspector ,when preparing to purchase a home. He went well past his normal time because of our questions. Marc's experience in building and renovation was very valuable when doing this home inspection for us. The report itself was sent to us within 48 hours of the inspection. We knew the report would be well put together, it was beyond that, this report contained hundreds of colored photographs, explanations and a most important referral tool in the future of the home we our purchasing. Marc called us to see if we had any questions and let know that if we did to contact him. Due to the knowledge he showed while doing the inspection and after going online to see examples of his work, we hope to be able to work with him in the future. We needed someone who would not sugar coat the work that needed to be done and he was truthful. We are well prepared to go forth with the purchase of this home due to his expertise. This was our first Angie's list experience and it could not have been any better than finding Marc Ekhause for this home inspection.

Mr. Ekhause provided the clearest, most thorough home inspection I have ever seen. He took sufficient time and seemed to enjoy his work. Roof, attic, crawlspace, and everything between -- he took everything seriously. Not hypercritical, he seemed respectful of the property and simply worked hard to gather facts and document them with remarkable clarity. The online report featured easy-to-read descriptions and nice color photos for nearly every element inspected. A report of this sort is liable to have a longer shelf life than most inspections -- essentially becoming a user's manual for the house.

Mr. Ekhause arrived promptly at the appointed time. He was very professional and began his work as soon as he had explained to me how he works and what he would be doing and approximately how long it would take. I wanted my home inspected because I plan to put it on the market soon, and I want it to be in pristine condition, with no surprises when it is seen by potential buyers. He examinined the house from the roof to the basement and foundation, taking numerous pictures and making notes at each stage. Occasionally he had questions and gave me a quick report of what he was seeing (or not seeing) and then he quickly got back to work. My home is fairly large, so it took approximately 3.5 to 4 hours to complete his inspection. He then explained to me exactly what he would do with the data he had collected and told me he would have the report ready for me within a day. He was as prompt with the report as with the inspection....all very professional and VERY comprehensive. The report was extremely informational and he made great suggestions when some action was required on my part to bring everything up to par. The report is very easy to understand, and the pictures help to illustrate what he is talking about. I couldn't be happier. I feel he did an outstanding job, and I plan to engage his services when I begin a remodeling job on another house I purchased. I can highly recommend Marc Ekhause.

he pointed out the sagging rafters, missing compressor, and many other issues with the house and gave me an estimate of how much it would cost to repair the items if the house was purchased. This very knowledgeable inspector was able to help pervent me from purchasing a very bad property.

Mr. Ekhause did a full inspection on the house we are buying. He took pictures of everything and a detailed note of each picture. He explained everything an easy to understand manner. Marc inspected the house as if he was the one buying it. Expressed his concerns and what it would take to correct it which made it very easy to ask the sellers to correct some issues. it took a day to get the full report back which he emailed to me and I printed it out. He let me know if I had any questions to let him know... which I didn't have to do since his 24 page report made perfect sense! Marc helped make our decision to purchase our new home. We are moving into our first home feeling very comfortable and well aware of our house.

We were very pleased with Marc's work adding a new porch. He listened to what we wanted and proceeded to do it as we had envisioned. Marc is very pleasant to work with, brought in excellent sub contractors and was on top of the project from start to finish, as well as being very close to budget and on time. We will definitely call him if /when we might have another project.

LOOK NO MORE, THIS IS THE PERSON TO CONTACT. I joined Angie's list with hopes of finding someone that could fix a leak on my front deck. After 6 years, 4-5 contractors and no luck just money thrown out the window we finally found Marc Ekhause Homes and there is no doubt in my mind that I would call him for any repairs on my home, perhaps building a new one or adding a room. The quality of his work is excellent, always explaining himself with regards to what he was going to do and made sure we understood and agreed with it,then cleaned up nicely after his work. We called 2-3 contractors but after meeting with Marc we could see his knowledge of construction was sound, his bid was very close to the others when he started to work for us and he was always on time. He showed us every single receipt he spent on our house, made sure the quality of the material,and construction were perfect,and did not stop until he found the problem and was absolutly positive he fixed it. The bid and the final payment were very close. Did I mentioned that we were thinking in building a new home and after seeing the quality of his work, there is no doubt in our mind we wouldn't look for anyone else. Even if we don't build but decide to have an addition on the house we will call him to do so, excellent job. 5 stars!!! He also has a large portfolio of his work on homes and renovations. Very professional, personable and trustworthy. He is also licensed as a Home Inspector. Hire him you and won't be disappointed!

I think the price was excellent for what they had to do, and the area they had to do it in. I would use this provider again.

we bought a house that was 15 years old, there we a series of large windows thay had to be replaced because of ater damage. these were large windows . the process involved lots of measuring to make sure there we no visible signs of replacement. we are pleased with the overall job, there was no residul damage to shrubs etc . this was a complex job in my uneducated opiniown.

The man was very thorough. He provided the details and material and all the work that he would be doing. He was very interested in preserving the character of the home.

Overall, I was pleased with the process of this remodel from beginning to end. Marc updated the bathroom while integrating my taste with 2011 trends. He used the available space in a creative way, resulting in a useful, comfortable, elegant bathroom. I appreciated his supervision of each part of the work. He met each subcontractor at the site and explained in detail exactly what was expected. He then monitored the progress of the work so that errors could be corrected immediately. He kept the work on schedule and was able to keep me accurately informed of the schedule. There were no unreasonable delays - the whole project was completed in 2 months. I couldn't be happier with my bathroom and am now trying to decide what part of my house I want Marc to redesign next!!

Mark is a real great guy. He is formerly a home builder. He took a project to build a home and didn't have time to do our smaller project. I know he's done a lot of work for my in-laws. He comes highly recommended.

It was great. I especially appreciated Mr. Ekhause's communication and customer service. We did this in the winter months, so the communication was very helpful.

Marc did meticulous work installing new siding around some curved trim and tight spots. He and the person working for him were always prompt and efficient, and they worked hard until the job was done. I also appreciated his willingness and ability to communicate. He was happy to listen to what I wanted and why I wanted it, and then to either do it, or to explain clearly why it wouldn't work, or why something else would work better. His experience as a builder and an inspector added to my confidence in his work, and I learned a few things about my house in the process!

Marc Ekhause took an architect's sketch, and developed it into a beautiful modern style tiled bath with steam. He determined all the project requirements, set them up in lists with hard prices attached, and gave me some suggestions for improvements. After accepting his written contract, he worked with me to set a starting date for demolition and reconstruction, took us to various vendors to search for materials, and began ordering materials which he stored in my garage. Marc began the job at 8:00 AM on the chosen day, and made progress every day thereafter. He had all materials ordered in time, and all of the subcontractors did their jobs to contract specs on time and on budget. His subcontractors were uniformly efficient and skillful. In any case, Marc checked their work as they went along, planning each step carefully with the subs, while keeping me apprised of the schedule. The bathroom looks like it comes out of a book or a HGTV design show. Fantastic work!
