The technician replaced the stopper at a big cost. They charge service call plus bill for time. So they bill for a set amount of time, the last time I had one of their technicians out, he asked if there was anything else I needed, since I had paid for an hour.
Not this time.
I won't be using them again for a minor problem.

The system worked fine through the winter. When summer came along the system could never keep ahead of the heat. Temperatures in my living room were up to 88 degrees when the setpoint on the thermostat was 72. They installed a third zone for my living room (that I paid additional money for). That didn't make one degree's difference.
At that point they stopped returning my phone calls. I hired Malone Finkle, a mechanical engineering firm in town. They did the calculations on the home and found that the entire system was undersized by 2-tons. H-VAC had been given a complete construction set and all the building materials in order for them to do an accurate load calculation. There is no excuse for this kind of error.
I have since had another company install an additional duct to the living room. I've replaced all the glass to solar-gray/low-e. The motorized dampers H-VAC installed broke in the first two years and I've replaced all three of those.
In all, to date, I paid an additional $6,600 to fix the problems.
This company is very unprofessional. They do not warrant anything.

I engaged H-vac after becoming frustrated with Ozark York (see my report there) not being able to identify the problem with my HVAC unit. I expressed my concern to H-vac about my unit not cooling properly, running non stop, and costing a huge amount of money. They responded quickly and their tech identified the problem with the unit in less than 10 minutes, and had it fixed in about 1.5 hours.
H-vac listened to my concerns and responded by confirming exactly what I told them and then used that info identify and repair the problem. This is how I feel like service and repair companies should operate and I will definitely use them again in the future.

They were very difficult to work with and the installation was a total redo from the get go. They did not plumb it up right; the sewer gas came right into the equipment room; they were just pretty non-responsive. They were the high bidder so their price was high and I will not use them again in the future.

H-VAC did an excellent job from beginning to end. They were very attentive and helpful in setting up the appointment even notifying me as per my request when an earlier slot opened up. They were punctual, efficient and very through. The service man was friendly and polite. Best of all they did a great job of cleaning up when they finished! I was very pleased and will use them again. I chose H-VAC because they are supportive of a charity organization that I am active with. These folks truly care about our community and it reflects in their quality of service.

H-Vac is very polite and they put something on their feet to make sure they don't track in mud. They do a good job to watch the equipment I have as well. I had them for a year and they were doing a good job so I signed them up to a contract. I do not think I am being unfairly charged. When they cannot come they call and tell me.

I have had H-Vac provide service twice - once to do a pre-winter heating system check, and the last one to do a pre-summer air conditioner check. Both technicians that came to the house were courteous, knowledgeable and prompt. Although my heating/AC system is over 20 years old, I was told that the unit was in good shape, and they didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. Also, when we got the heating system check, the techician provided us a form to sign for a rebate from City Utilities. Because we were new to Springfield, I was unaware of this rebate, and it was great that they were on top of that to offer without the customer asking for it.

I just purchased an older home and had the units serviced and the ducts cleaned. Scheduling, actual work and clean up were good experiences. They made reasonable recommendations and suggestions. Very professional. I called them the next time I needed needed something! Same good experience.

They did a great job. Another company, Long Heating and Air of Ozark, told us we needed just to buy a new furnace because ours was old and he couldn't fix it becuase it didn't have the blinking light system that tellls the repairman what the problem is. I can count blinks of a light and then read the chart. I don't need to pay somebody for that.

We had a furnace problem on a very cold Saturday, and the service department came right out. They had to check everything, found dead bird in vent pipes. He also replaced a damaged pipe. We were happy the charges were not more for a Saturday call. We have used this company for a couple of years to check furnace before turning on heat. We would not call any other company.
