When arriving at the Geek Squad, I waited in line for 10 minutes while only one Geek Squad agent was helping people and two others were working in the back, and five others were standing around. I told the agent about the problem, he had no idea what was wrong with it and asked for my information. He stood there typing and staring into the computer monitor for ten minutes without speaking a word. He then threw a paper at me and told me to sign it and my computer would be sent to Kentucky and return in 2-4 weeks. I was called about 2 weeks later about a product replacement. No one in the geek squad could explain to me what was wrong with my computer. Agent Cline told me my computer was junked out and my hard drive and information was impossible to retrieve. I was sent to a sales representative (Christian) who was very helpful and told me my hard drive would be sent to me. I was told to wait two weeks for my hard drive. I asked why two weeks, and they explained that it took days to process an email and then to ship the hard drive. The next day, I was contacted and told I could not get my hard drive. Options were get a new computer and lose all of my information, get my old one back that is busted and not get a new one, or get a new one and pay $269 for my information. I tried to contact the Geek Squad 8 times that day, and every time they answered, I got "Geek Squad, Please hold." I spoke with managers of Best Buy and the service center in Kentucky until I finally decided to lodge a complaint with the corporate office. They offered me a $50 gift card from my terrible customer service because every time I went in to speak with an agent, they each had an attitude and did not help me whatsoever. I received third degree about asking for my own information and an attitude that just said, "I shouldn't have to help anyone." I ended up losing my information because the Geek Squad would not give me service or help I needed. I received a new laptop, and it works fine, but I dread going in there to fix another problem.
