Good. They found the back window for my 31 year old car. I was afraid they couldn't find one. Also, were able to cut a piece of glass to fit my rear view mirror on driver's side.

Super nice, professional and prompt! I needed new windshield for my bmw without paying dealership crazy price. But obviously also wanted it done right with right part. I had unfortunately pre-paid another shop months ago, and they never delivered at all. I needed the car to pass inspection asap. I called Carsten, talked to Paul. They quoted me a great price. I brought my car in, dropped it off. I picked it up a few hours later. The windshield looked great, and though it's only been a couple of days, I am very pleased. We had a monsoon type rainstorm, and winshield held solid, no leaks, etc.And you couldn't ask for nicer guys! So friendly! I would highly recommend!!!

Two days later, my son drove over the railroad tracks on S. Glenstone and the mirror fell off hitting him in the head. He was quite startled, but fortunately not injured nor did he lose control of his car. However, the adhesive Carsten Auto had used to re-attach the mirror to the windshield pulled a large chunk of the windshield when the mirror fell off. Although the chunk did not open up a hole to the outside, it is large enough that my insurance company believes the windshield is compromised.
I asked my insurance agent how to proceed. I believe this was Carsten's error and they should rectify the windshield damage. I do not believe this warrants my making a claim to my insurance company.
My insurance agent called Carsten and was told that it wasn't Carsten was not at fault. He said probably my son had deliberately pulled the mirror off to get a new windshield out of it and furthermore, they were not going to replace the windshield and if I or the insurance company had a problem with this, we could sue them.
My son pulling a rear view mirror off so he could get a new windshield out of it? Who would ever think of doing such a thing? I wonder if the Carsten's guy knew more about this than meets the eye. I've begun to wonder if they damaged the windshield when they re-attached the mirror and they sent my son to drive with an impending dangerous situation while Carsten's crossed their fingers hoping all might be well.

Original experience: Our van failed inspection due to a crack in the windshield. They quoted us a reasonable price. When we went to pick the van up, they actually charged us around $20 LESS than the price originally quoted. (They explained that on our particular van they hadn't had to use a molding that was included in the original quote). Second time around: They did a good job (as far as we can tell), for a good price. We had actually had this repaired once before by someone else who didn't really know what they were doing, and it had come back out. Since these guys do this for a living (and they definitely used more professional-looking materials), I suspect it'll hold for a long time. Third time around: Their price was reasonable, but upon consulting with them they explained the limitations of windshield repair and advised that we might be better off to just wait and eventually replace the windshield. Cost of repair would've been around $100 or slightly more; the cost of replacing the windshield would be around $200. Obviously, I don't know their exact profit margins but I'm estimating that the profit probably isn't that much different whether they repair or replace. In any event, they essentially turned down the immediate job, and as far as I can tell it was because their goal was to genuinely do what was best for the customer -- even if it meant risking never getting the job later. The bottom line is that we have used or consulted them on 3 occasions, and been happy every time. Our experience is that they have been honest, professional, and worked with our best interest in mind. Note that they apparently have multiple locations. We have no experience with their other location, but have been very happy with the South Glenstone one. Our first experience took place probably around 2006 or 2007, the second and third experiences in February/ March 2011.

Our windshield was replaced very quickly and the quality seems to be excellent. We appreciated the follow up call several days later to make sure the work was satisfactory.
