During the buying process she was available pretty much anytime we needed her to be to go look at other houses which was always weekend afternoons for us. She's been in the business long enough and seen enough houses that as we walked through she would point out all the pros and cons of a house. Defects in construction on new houses and potential problem spots on older homes. Being able to tell whether work and repairs were professionally done or done by someone who didn't know what they were doing. NOT trying to make a sale but showing legitimate concern over whether a property was actually worth buying.
I don't feel like I'm adequately giving her all the kudos she deserves but know that I've since recommended her to multiple friends and family who all had similarly great things to say about her and should we buy another house she'll be the first person I call.
We contacted her and set up an initial appointment.
We discussed our plan verbally and looked at at few homes that first day.
We never signed a contract with her until we had settled on a home - a measure of honesty on both our parts.
We found a house in March and settled in April.
Becky Buchanan is so very different from most realtors. We knew the moment we met her quite by accident that we were all on the same wavelength, because she wasn't pushy or needy and didn't exaggerate and make speculations about things she isn't sure of. We'd had realtors show us houses where it was obvious the realtor didn't know a thing about the house, but instead of saying so, the realtor would make up information that was obviously not true. Becky is the oppostie. She is friendly and knowledgeable without being overbearing and insistent. So, when it came time to sell our house, we called Becky and scheduled a walk-through. She made suggestions on what we should do to clean up and and quot;stageand quot; the house as well as how we should price the house based on the market and the home sales history of our neighborhood. She scheduled an Open House the next weekend as well as one the following weekend and advertised our house in the newspapers and the internet. The Open House was well-attended and we received an offer for 97% of our asking price THE VERY NEXT DAY, so the second Open House could be cancelled. And, the buyers set a closing date for five weeks from the signing of the contract. During those five weeks, Becky was constantly checking in with the buyers' lender to make sure the closing would go through on time as well as helping move the home inspection and appraisal along. It was amazing how smoothly and quickly everything went. Becky handled every little detail from every angle: financial, legal, etc., and very little effort was required on our part. I would heartily recommend her to anyone who is nervous about selling or buying a home, because Becky truly listens to her clients, works tirelessly to treat them fairly, professionally, and with compassion. She makes what might be a difficult, emotional situation a piece of cake. We couldn't believe that the whole scenario of putting the house on the market to walking away with a check TOOK LESS THAN SIX WEEKS.
