Sanding off the existing surface of the porch was a major job. But Jesse got it all prepped and ready for the staining. The results exceeded my expectations. The concrete was of poor quality and not in the best condition, so it was not an easy task to get it cleaned up.Some of the details that impressed me about this business: they never left a mess of equipment and product laying around; everything was cleaned up at the end of each day. Jesse is flexible, and it was easy to make changes in design/color as we went along. The warranty on the work and product is fair. If the weather was not going to cooperate, Jesse just rescheduled. He has no hesitation about showing up at any time of night or day in order to make certain the weather/wind/rain is not going to impinge on the quality of his work. He is personable, forthright, and honest. My contract with him was fulfilled as agreed upon.
It was a time-consuming event for both of us, but one I would do again. The results have added pop to all the concrete on the property, and people always comment on it when they see it for the first time. The drive even has colored chips in it that sparkle in the sun and at night under a full moon it looks like the stars have fallen and landed on the drive! Waaay cool!
I wish, I had checked the BBB rating first. His rating is an F.
After over a month, he finally decided to arrange a time to fix his work. The Bottom line is even after the work is complete, it still looks very amateur and not something I would pay for. I would not recommend hiring this company or Jesse Mach.
"What I inherited on this project was a homeowner that was in the middle of a DIY project that called in help. As I do with all of my customers, I told him what his choices were with regard to the divots left by the carpet tack strips. He chose to not fill them and let the penetrating seal system fill them to the extent possible. He did not say anything after finishing the first half of what became a two phase project, dividing the floor in two halves right down the middle. Upon finishing the second half just as I did the first half and ready to collect the balance on the project, he then said he did not like the outcome with the divots on either half of the floor. I have been doing this many years and know when a customer, given all the information in the beginning and allowing them to make an educated decision, is then trying to delay, receive a discount, or get out of paying altogether at the conclusion of the work. That was the case here. Even after sanding the floor, filing the divots additionally, and then resealing the floor again, he hesitated paying even with the floor being what he was asking for initially upon refusal to pay. If there were a "do not work for" list of homeowners to avoid, he would be on it."
