Description of Work: They were supposed to perform a full re-roof. Instead of starting the job, they ran with my check. I won a case against him and was awarded a judgement on July, 17th 2012.

Description of Work: David and Tracy stopped by my house on a drive through of my neighborhood and noted we had hail damage. They went on my roof, checked out the hail damage, gave me an estimate, told me they would take insurance proceeds, and waive my 1000 dollar deductible for putting a sign in my yard. They were very helpful with me calling the insurance and getting the adjuster to my house. Tracy came and met with the adjuster. Tracy called within a few days and asked me if I had heard anything or gotten a check. At that time, I had not yet received a check. About 5 days later, the first checked showed up in the mail. From there, the fun started. I called to tell them I got the check and asked when they would be here. David said he could come pick up the check to immediately and they should be back within a week. One week later, we had not seem the roofers, so I called again. Tracy said they should be there the next week. The next week, still no roofers. I called and talked to David and he said Tracy was wrong and it would still be about 10 more days because they were working in Little Rock. I then called again just to make sure they were coming and was told that they would be there on Monday, September 3 (Labor Day). He then called me on Sunday, September 2 and told me that they would not be there Monday because he forgot it was a holiday. I understood. He then called me Tuesday and said his guys were in Louisiana and could not be at my house. In the meantime, he had called my insurance company asking for more money. My insurance company called me and said they could give him 200 more dollars. They then sent me the second check. I called and asked when they were coming and he kept putting me off. I talked to my mortgage holder and they told me to tell him to get here and get it done or I would press charges for taking my money and doing no work. I still had the 2nd check. They finally came on Thursday and Friday, September 7 and 8. The actual roofers did a great job and were very professional and nice. We had picked out 25-year shingles in a slate color and David didn't write anything down and brought lifetime shingles in a slate color. We told him we did not pick lifetime shingles and we would not pay for them. He was very angry and wanted his money. We had other things that the insurance paid us for, like our AC, some screens, and siding, and David seemed to want all the money. We told him no, we still had to get these things fixed. He said he would come back on Monday, September 10 and fix these things. He never showed up and never contacted us. We have a nice new roof (which looks great), but the communication was awful. This was my first contact with a contractor and the next time one knocks at my door, I will not answer. Be careful if you choose these people and keep records of everything. We paid for the roof, nothing else, but I feel he was trying to scam us to get all the money.

The nice young man, Junior, who came to my home and inspected my roof for free, was able to give me an estimate right after his inspection. They handled nearly all the paperwork and calls to my insurance company, so I didn't have to do anything but provide them with my insurance papers. I was especially pleased when the roofing crew finished my roof in less then 3 days and left my yard spotless. I have recommended America's Roof Today to my family and friends because if they ever need a new roof or roof repair I don't want them calling just any old roofing company. I want my family and friends to call a GREAT roofing company. I am now recommending America's Roof Today to whomever is searching on this site for a high quality roofing company, they were the best!
