Customers say: Quality work

"Fritz Construction completely gutted and repaired my home. Floors, ceilings, all electrical, all light fixtures, removal of gas heater...too much to list. He took a flood disaster and created a beautiful home from the rubble. I am forever grateful, and he will be a friend for life. He's fair, reasonable, patient, and more importantly, knowledgeable in all fields of home building."

"Mike is very, very good. He has done this work for awhile and it shows. Clean job site, professional install. He created a shower step, storage niche and our shower floor with an infinity drain. This is a beautiful shower. Highly, highly recommend Mike."

"Very knowledgeable, professional, punctual and courteous. He and his wife showed up the first day and tore out some cracked tile that we were going to replace and found the concrete floor to be cracked underneath. He was very knowledgeable on how to repair the crack and do it in the most economical manner. I thought what he charged me was very fair. If I ever need anything else done that involves flooring I won t hesitate to call Gary."

"I appreciated the ability to communicate with Tom on line, I have a long shift and am not available during the day. Project began a day late, but I am extremely happy with the finished product. Tom was pleasant and professional, did not need much direction, and fence was completed within the expected time span."

"The deck to be built was a difficult one to execute. I didn't see how it could possibly work out due to the many obstacles to overcome. But Carson Construction came in, looked at the problems, and in a short time had come up with a terrific, workable solution. The finished deck is a two level structure which compliments my 100 year old house beautifully. I would highly recommend Carson Construction and their talented crew. I am so appreciative of the great work they did."

Hardwood Flooring FAQs, answered by experts

Plywood is the best type of subfloor for a mobile home, though if you’re installing flooring in a bathroom, you may want to install a vapor barrier or use a moisture-proof subfloor material like Amdry. OBS is similar, but it can swell when moisture is present.

Either way, old mobile home subflooring made from particleboard can cause issues with your joints. If you’re replacing your subfloor, it’s best to upgrade to plywood.

With proper care and maintenance, hardwood floors can last for decades or even centuries. Solid hardwood and tropical wood, in particular, have the potential to be sanded and refinished multiple times, extending their lifespan. However, the longevity of hardwood floors also depends on factors such as the wood species, quality of installation, and the level of foot traffic in that area of your home.

Berber is a loop pile carpet known for its strength, durability, and distinct looped look. It can be made from a number of different carpet materials, including nylon and wool. However, Berber isn’t as soft as cut pile carpet, so it isn’t the best carpet for a bedroom (although it’s a good style of carpet for living rooms).

With that said, if you really like the look of Berber, you can still install it in your bedroom—it just might not be as comfortable on your feet as cut pile carpeting.

On average, installing carpet costs between $3 and $11 per square foot, depending on factors like the carpet material, style, and labor rates in your area. Sometimes, installers will include carpet removal in these costs, so if you don’t have any carpet to remove, you can save time and spend less money on labor.

Carpeting lasts between 10 and 15 years in most cases, but keep an eye out for common signs that it's time to replace it. Persistent smells despite deep cleaning, faded color, worn-down carpet padding, and general wear and tear are signs that it's time to tear it up. If you are experiencing allergy issues indoors, this could also be a sign that new flooring is the key to a fresher home.
