Custom cabinets are excellent

It went fantastic. They do excellent work. I didn't get them on Angie's List but I knew them from past experiences. They are a great company. I am a retired construction worker and while I was working, I had seen his product over ten or twelve years ago and I was overwhelmed then with his excellent work. They are excellent cabinetmakers and excellent installers. I live in Saint Louis, I have looked in Saint Louis for cabinets and the prices and Mike Lurk is about thirty miles south of where I live. So when I went down, I got the price from him and he was probably twenty-five to thirty percent cheaper. That is why I went with him. Once I put the deposit down on Monday, they are coming back for the vanity in about two or three weeks.

Lurk's work is beautiful and the craftsmanship superb. We renovated an old kitchen and it was necessary to go with custom cabinetry in order to use the space to its fullest. Our general contractor and I visited their shop in St. Genevieve and saw the wide range of styles and colors they have. My husband and I selected a unique blue/grey color. The amazing thing is that two different cabinet styles were appealing to us, and Lurk created a brand-new hybrid style that had the elements we liked best from both! This is an unimaginable level of service. The prices reflect the high quality, but you get what you pay for---actually, these cabinets weren't that much more expensive than the non-custom cabinetry prices from other contractor bids. We never stop getting compliments about these cabinets from everyone who enters our home!

Everything went well. It was a complicated task, but Lurk did an excellent job.

All "custom" cabinetry in a new house, kitchens and bathrooms. After extensive planning done exclusively by Lurks "designers" many components did not fit including kitchen drawers that would not open because they were blocked by the stove that they had measured and designed around! Cabinets did not match and did not fit. A bench seat laid out by them was only 5 inches wide. They did not supply adequate scribe material to fit the cabinets in place. They did not supply the correct trim. They promised solid all-wood cabinets, which are even still shown on their web-site and instead delivered particle board cases. They replaced the most egregiously non-fitting and poorly made cabinets (and this time used high-grade plywood for the cases) at a cost of a couple of months delay. Even when questioned about these issues, they immediately filed suit for payment in full even though they had not delivered the quality of cabinets that they promised. Mike Lurk also came into our house in a rage, called my wife a liar and said that it was her fault that the kitchen cabinets did not fit, even though his designers measured and re-measured and laid out all the cabinets. Lurk's sold us well and did not deliver anything close to our expectations. I would be happy to return all of the cabinets and start over with a quality cabinet shop. I would never patronize them again for anything. It is still embarrassing that I have to see a large brand burned into the sides of every drawer with the Lurk's logo. They offer a "Full Lifetime Warranty", which is defined as limited to the 10 year assumed expected life-span of the cabinets (not of the owner), and is prorated per year.
