AFFORDABLE CONCRETE INC

I called the company and made an appointment with Josh to come to my house and give me an estimate. Josh arrived late to my house the day of the appointment. He was young and seemed inexperienced as far as concrete patios. He never took off his sunglasses to talk to me which I felt was rude and unprofessional. Josh wasn't able to formulate questions to ask me as the homeowner about what I was wanting. His answers to my questions regarding the procedure he would utilize to put in the patio were not correct. I asked how the patio would be installed since this was an old house with wood clapboard siding that would eventually be replaced. He said he would run the concrete right up against the wood clapboard which was alarming to me since moisture would eventually occur and rot the wood. I questioned his method and then he added that he would put plastic in between the concrete and the house. I further questioned the moisture issue and he said he could put some caulk in as well. This to me was unacceptable. I had already had another company out to give me an estimate and they explained to me that putting the concrete up against the wood clapboard would not be the correct way, but instead would dig out the area for the patio which would lower the concrete below the bottom of the wood clapboard, thus eliminating any moisture issues and would allow for the fact that the siding would either be replaced or covered with vinyl or cement board siding in the near future. This made much more sense. I suggested this to Josh, but he never really answered me. I asked for suggestions on how to tie in the existing sidewalk and he really had none. I felt at that point that he did not really know what he was doing. In the end, he said he would email/mail me an estimate in the next week. It's been over three weeks since his visit and I have never heard back from him via phone, mail or email, not that I really wanted to at that point. I would not recommend him to anyone.
