They were awesome! They do high end work. I was truly impressed both with the quality of the product and the workmanship.

We were impressed that the windows are manufactured in Canada and use thick Douglas fur for the frames. Staining the wood is just gorgeous to encase the windows. Everything was just perfect.

We had one small issue from the manufacturing point of view and they handled that no problem.

I live in a historic district, and Loewen windows were on a shortlist of acceptable windows for my area; I chose the aluminum clad wood windows. The initial showroom visit, in-home visit, and first-draft quote went very smoothly and efficiently, and it really helped that Robert Sylvia was knowledgeable about the historic standards and cultural resources office approval process. There were some frustrating delays getting adjustments to the initial plan and quote, which I later learned were due in large part to staff shortages, showroom relocation, and "home show" (also complicated by confusion regarding what does vs. doesn't comply with historic standards). When we finally landed on details for the windows and installation that were acceptable to all, the process went very smoothly -- everyone at Loewen was really great to deal with (and very patient/empathetic regarding the experience of complying with historic standards). It was a complicated installation, but Chris did a really great job, and my windows look great and are really great quality (they should be for the cost! --my only gripe, but I know they are worth it.). The installation involved some "finishing details" we didn't know about beforehand (lowering a window ledge, adding a piece of moulding) which were also completed with care and professionalism (and no extra costs). Later, when winter came, I saw a tiny crack in the corner of one window -- apparently something that can happen when there is a tiny nick in the edge of glass followed by a temperature change. One email to Robert was all it took to get a replacement sash ordered, which was installed quickly.
