Hair Salons/Barbers
Jason is really a good hair cutter. He was great. He is not talkative but he is well skilled. All he does is haircut. I usually schedule a week or two. The place is old fashioned but cute. The parking is sometimes easy but usually you have to park on the street. However, they are pretty far away from my place.

Overall, V Vegaz is a wonderful place. Ellen cut my hair and she was fabulous. I had just moved to STL and was having trouble finding the place and was running late. FYI, if you are 15 minutes late they will insist that you reschedule. Although this was a bit annoying since I was 5 minutes away and was getting a haircut (for short hair which doesn't take that long), I can appreciate that they don't want to put the rest of their clients behind. I was still able to get in to see Ellen and she took her time and did a great job. I will definitely return.

My hair is very naturally curly with a pretty tight curl in some places, straight underneath, and several curl patterns in different spots. It is pretty much a mixed bag of curl and had grown to shoulder length. I have had two curly cuts before to get some shape and rid myself of the dreaded pyramid shape that it can resemble. This cut was the best that I have ever had. I would highly recommend Callie as a stylist for girls with curls.
This was my first cut from Callie as my previous stylist had left this salon. She was very attentive to what I had to say about the current state of my hair and what I wanted it to do differently. She listened, examined my hair, and immediately showed me a style in a picture that she thought would be flattering to me and easier to take care of. It was the kind of style that I was thinking of myself, so we agreed to give it a try. She took her time cutting my dry hair into layers that are shorter than what other stylists had recommended, gave a wonderful shampoo with scalp massage, dried my hair, and touched up the cut when finished. It turned out looking great and has been much easier for me to style at home. Callie definitely has a gift for the curly cut. She is friendly and not at all pushy about selling products that the salon carries. She told me that if I wanted to have anything changed to just let her know and come back in.
V-Vegaz salon is a relaxing place, uniquely decorated, and has a friendly and professional staff. They offer you tea or water to drink as soon as you arrive. I had to change my appointment time at least once, and had no trouble at all. It is a bit difficult to find if you haven't been there before since the storefront is narrow and the sign is behind a tree so you can't see it while driving; however, if you take the time to locate it you will not be disappointed. All curly cuts are $50 plus tip which sounded a bit high to me, but seems to be the going rate in St. Louis. Well worth it if you have difficult to cut hair like mine.

As usual Martina and her staff were very friendly. I'm very pleased with the haircut. Martina makes a visit to the salon interesting because she's a great conversationalist.

It went well. The receptionist greeted me and asked if I would like a beverage. She then brought me a cup of hot tea as requested. Martina, the stylist, was friendly and engaging. She did a great job with my hair. All in all a very pleasant experience. Very friendly salon.

Martina does a great job with my hair. I have what I think is unruly (wavy) hair. Martina seems to know just what to do and not to do to it. She does not wet in down and comb it. She cuts it dry, and then washes and conditions it. I am pleased with my hair every single time she cuts it. Best of all, I do not dread going to the salon. Everyone at V Vegaz Style is friendly and welcoming. I would characterize the style of employees as "dark". No shortage of tattoos, piercings, black clothing- if you are inclined to be put off by this GO ANYWAY. Everyone is friendly. Martina will make you feel welcome. They usually have candy, coffee, and water. The only downside may be the parking- plenty of it, but it might require a little walk unless you park at a meter in front of the salon. Best of all Martina is very entertaining. She's a great conversationalist. I always leave in a good mood, even if I was down when I arrived.

Martina has been cutting my very thick, curly hair for two years. When she and Brandi opened their own salon, I followed them from their prior location. My hair has never looked (and felt) better. After years of trying to find a stylist who could make the most of naturally curly hair, I am completely satisfied with this salon.
