 + -1 moreAnthony was quick to respond to our request to come look at the roof as it had started to leak during the big snow and extreme cold we got just after the first of the year. He quickly turned the estimate to us and worked on the roof within days of getting the estimate. It was installed in a day, he also included tuckpointing as part of the bid because of some brick issues had at the roof line. After the job was completed we walked the roof and everything looked to be done with attention to detail, we were overall very satisfied with the job.
Description of Work: Install a flat roof on a rental property, about 2k square feet.

In addition to the warranty offered on the roofing materials, a matching warranty on the installation was offered. The new roof has been in place for over a year now, and I couldn't be happier with it.
Description of Work: Removed approx. 2 long dumpsters full of old heavy tar roof, repaired underlayment of roof, tuckpointed brickwork (chimneys, etc), replaced all guttering, and laid a nice new white TPO roof on a 5500 sq ft commercial building.

Description of Work: He replaced our flat roof. It was barely above freezing but he came anyway on a Saturday morning. It started snowing then and we had a major storm with a lot of snow but we were dry and very grateful that he had made it a priority. He also cleaned the gutter on the entryway roof and replaced that roof also.

 + -1 moreOn my initial call, when I spoke with the company the guy stated that they were really busy right now. I had no doubt since we have had some crazy storms this spring. I said that was fine and I understood. I called on a Tuesday and he said that he would try and get by the house and take a look at the roof within a couple of days, but for sure by the end of the week. The following week I heard nothing from the company, so I called again. He never made it over, and never bothered to call either. On my follow up call he said that he would make it over in a couple of days and this time we set a day and time. No show. I understand that roofing companies are very busy right now, good for them. What I don't understand is the lack of professionalism. The company not only stood me up once, but twice and never made an attempt to make communication with me. This is not only disrespectful but bad business.
Description of Work: After a major storm came through the area I called the company in order to have my roof looked at and hopefully repaired.

A few days later, he went up on my old roof and explained the best way to replace it. I received 5 bids, and the Flat Roof Company was the second highest. I was really impressed with the 20 year workmanship and material warranty. When they were finished installing the new roof, I also got to climb the ladder and look it over -- that was great! I couldn't be happier.
Description of Work: The Flat Roof Company replaced the entire roof on my circa-1902 brick home near Tower Grove Park. They covered over my old roof with an insulation layer and a new, white TPO roofing membrane.

 + -1 moreThe estimate was provided the day after contact was made. The work was done as soon as could be scheduled as within a few days. The guarantee on the work and materials will give us assurance that we will never have to pay to have it done again!
Description of Work: We have a two story house with very high ceilings on a basement foundation about 3 feet above the ground. Photos showing the condition of the roof both before and after were provided. Our experience was very good. Although the weather was at freezing and the wind was blowing hard, they did the work in half a day. No problems now whereas when it rained before it came right through the roof and through the ceiling of our bedroom. They also worked with us in taking the payment in two parts. Since the money was coming from annuities we were not able to pay the day the work was completed but Anthoney trusted us and the money arrived a day later. Several small pieces of old roofing were overlooked when the crew cleaned up after the job was completed. After several calls this was taken care of. I would definately recommend this company. We had the roof replaced previously within the year but it was not properly done and in fact the contractor died so we had no recourse except to have it done again, this time by a reliable professional. We were so grateful that Anthony and his crew were willing to brave the weather because when we had record breaking snowfall within a few days, it melted and ran OFF.

 + 1 moreI was referred to this company by another Angie's List company, as they are flat roof specialists. My contact with Anthony from start to finish was professional and courteous. He met me at the property and began/finished work within the week of receiving the deposit. Anthony responded to every call keeping me informed along the way and took steps to address other concerns such as supporting a chimney that was leaning. He provided pictures of the work in progress and upon completion that I was able to submit to the insurance company; garnering their approval of the claim.
Description of Work: The roof to the main house was recovered with rubberroid roofing and the garage received a new roof as well in addition to rebuilding the damaged decking prior to installation. The slate front of the porch roof was removed and replaced with architectural roofing shingles as requested. Gutters were also installed.

I had had a previous attempt to fix my leak by another roofing company that had gone badly; their fix only lasted 3 months before the leak returned, yet it had cost $800. The leak returned on the morning of July 4th, and since it was a holiday, I called thinking I'd leave a message. Instead, they were there, and I got to speak with to Anthony (owner) right away. He was at my house the next day, a Tuesday, and because of the severity of my leak, he pushed to get my job done as quickly as possible -- the workers came that Saturday, just 5 days after my original call, and got the job done. Everyone was prompt, polite, honest, and gave a reasonable price. Anthony explained everything well, and was very patient in answering all my questions. They cleaned up completely. Anthony came at the end of the day to inspect the job personally to make sure that everything had been done right. After I expressed concern about moisture being trapped underneath, he agreed, and he came back a few days later and installed a vent over the area where the leak had been, at no charge. He also sent me photos of the new roof the day of the job, and of the vent after he installed it (since I didn't understand how it worked). His was the only company I could find that would put a leak-free guarantee on a flat roof house -- in my case, it was a 10-year guarantee.
Description of Work: Put a layer of rubber over the entire (flat) roof of my house, which had a leak. Later (in approximately October, 2011) did the same for my small detached garage, when it, too, developed a leak, and also replaced the gutters on my garage.

Description of Work: Had a flat roof go bad just 6 months after another roofer replaced roof on small carriage house. Anthony was quick to respond to call for estimate and described well the scope of work with written estimate. His crew did a great job in a very timely manner. Really seem to know their business. Adjusted decking to account for proper drainage, put down new roofing material over decking and ran reset coping tiles. Building was quite small (500 SF) carriage house.

 + -1 moreAnthony Ely came end of August to give an estimate. I called back the next week to schedule the work. Anthony came out the next Monday and I signed the contract, then the workers arrived just before I left for work, around 8:30, on Tuesday morning. When I got home around 6:00 p.m., the workmen were just finishing up, and Anthony was there to check it out. He took pictures so that I could see how the roof looked. They also took care of a problem with a porch roof on the side of the house, which wasn't strictly their type of work, since it isn't a flat roof, but they did it well and I have not had any problems since the repairs. They were efficient, did a good job, and cleaned up after themselves completely. So far, my house is dry. On the other hand, we haven't had much rain since then, so the true test will come over the next several months.
Description of Work: New rubber roof put on, then coated with a white protective coating.

He emailed those photos to me for my insurance carrier. He was here when the repairs were completed. The repairs were done within 24 hours of my agreement to use him. Description of Work: I discovered I had a leaky roof, when spring brought us countless thunderstorms. To add to my frustration, I soon found out that many local roofing companies never return calls or don't bother to show up for scheduled appointments, and never call to let you know why they blew you off. It was truly shocking for myself who has been in the customer service industry for many years, that these companies can remain in business with no thought to simple common courtesy. In the midst of the blow offs and on-going leaking I saw The Flat Roof Company's truck parked at a Cardinals game, and decided to call. Not only did my call get returned the same day, it was actually returned by the owner Anthony. I told him my situation, and my endless search for a roofing company who would actually come look at my roof, he responded by scheduling me for the next day...and letting me know he would actually show up. The next day Anthony called 1 hr. before my scheduled appointment, to let me know he was in the area and could come by earlier....this was all pleasing to my ears....because I worried all night before that I would have someone not keep there word yet again. Anthony inspected my roof, and gave me several options that would take care of my situation. I appreciated him giving me options, which allowed me to better decide what would work best for me financially...instead of one picture which is usually the most expensive. He also offered a guarantee with each of the options. Once an option was decided, Anthony showed up on the schedule day (in the same week) with his crew and fixed my room within 4-5 hours. The crew and Anthony were all professional and friendly. I have had my roof repaired for nearly a month, and I have had no issues. Now I can actually RELAX and not stress when the rain begins to pour!

Job was completed quickly after contract was signed. Job started Monday and finished Wednesday. Roof looked great, gutters looked great and I like the white coat that I selected as an personel option. This . added cost to the job but it increased the guarantee and wiil help to reflect the heat a little.

 + -1 moreIt all went very well. Two heavy rainstorms later, no leaks. They cleaned up after themselves well. I paid them a down-payment of 1/3 of the cost (which they deposited promptly), and then we waited more than 2 weeks for them to begin. If there was one area of improvement, i'd recommend them staying in contact with the customer via email while waiting to begin the job. there were 2 weeks or so after they cashed the deposit check, when i never heard from them (but didn't try to reach them either)..... but which worked out completely fine. they were recommended to me by two other longer-running ST louis roofing companies (who didn't do, or like to do, flatroofing). anthony and his team were sincere and straightforwardly hard-working. mostly, we now have a new flat roof (over the old one), with a 10 year warrantee. their price was somewhat lower than other bids.
Description of Work: The Flat Roof Co.,--run by Anthony--put a new 'rubber' (synthetic reinforced composition), onto my large flat room. they worked around 4 skylights, Dish TV-Satelite, 2 heavy AC units, and had to remove and replace all the ceramic caps around the perimeter and replace them. Before that, they responded quite promptly to coming out to repair a small leak (that no other roofers had been able to find and stop). They had to wait 3 weeks for the weather to improve (snow and ice delayed their start--understandably), but when they began, they did the whole job in 1.5 days. There seemed to be two men on the crew, plus Anthony, who supervised and sometimes worked with them.

 + -1 moreThey were alright. I did not like the fact that the person who gave me the estimate was not the person that went up on my roof. They gave me a recommendation and estimate that others would not do. They advised their guys to do what they recommended them to do. Their work was much more expensive than the other service providers. They also told me that they would email me the pictures of the roof along with a written estimate that they never did.

Although the number is local, it appears to go to some sort of clearinghouse and then they contact the local guy and he calls you. He called and we set up a time for him to come out and do an estimate. He never showed up and I couldn't call him directly since the only number was the clearinghouse. Never heard from him again.

However, despite as many as five (5) attempts on my part to get him to come back out to complete an estimate, he never returned calls or showed up. The last attempt was this last week. After calling the company and being connected to him, he made arrangements to come on Saturday, 4/24. He did not come by, nor did he call to reschedule/etc. I just called them to complain, only to find out that Anthony is the boss! So, not much point in trying to complain to his boss!
Description of Work: Anthony from Flat Roof Co. came out to my house to do an assessment of my roof. He was completely professional and pleasant, even helpful. However, he never followed up to that visit, despite repeated phone calls from me to him and the company.

Anthony actually comes out and works on the roof with his crew of 3-4 guys. He's not someone who sets in an office and only comes out to give you an estimate. He was also able to give me an estimate on the spot. I am very happy with their work.
