The estimate matched a low bid from another company and the third bid was $400 higher. Selected Davey because of pleasantness and helpful info from their representative plus he assured reasonable time for completion of the work. The crew was here as they promised. They were professional, neat and careful not to injure new plantings in the vicinity. They performed every aspect of the job according to the contract and were polite and pleasant to deal with.

Estimate was scheduled and provided and work done in a timely manner.

The guys that came out were very polite and hard working. They were very clean and neat and did a very professional job. All their equipment was new and very well kept. I think that says a lot for the type of workers and the foreman on the job.

I had 4 companies give me bids and Davey was the most reasonable. It took about 10 days before they came to give me a bid, but I was in no big hurry. When I called to tell Davey I would like them to do the work, they scheduled me for a Saturday which was good for me since I have dogs at home. I needed to be home to keep them calm! The 2 men that came to cut down the trees were polite and I told them of my concerns of the 1 tree being so close to my garden window. They were very careful and completed the job with no damage done to anything. I called Davey again the following Friday to find out when they were going to come to remove the stumps. I thought that part should have been done automatically, but they were apologetic and scheduled the work for the following Monday. Overall, I was very pleased with their work. I recommended them to my next-door neighbor.

This guy was a little more expensive than the place that I decided to go with. He was very nice to me until he found out that he was not getting the contract. He acted like a sore loser or something. He had a very bad temper and an attitude problem.

Davey Tree Service does their very best for you. The man came on time. He was very professional and meticulous in doing the work just right. I'm very happy with the work he did. I would definitely call them back if I ever need any tree work done again.

I'm having them back out in the fall to prune a massive tree.

They did what they were supposed to do.

The estimator came out within 2 or 3 days of my calling, so I appreciated that. The estimate included a nice little drawing which showed were all the named plants were. However, I ended up choosing another company whose estimate was even a little bit less, and included grinding out the pine stump and digging up the roots of the Barberry bushes. Davey could get most of the work done much more quickly, but I would have had to have found another person to grind the stump out and I didn't want to do that. Plus, the man wrote down that the Barberries were "Pyracantha", and I had TOLD him they were Barberries - hard to explain, but that annoyed me somehow!

I still want them to contact me to complete the work requested.

A very large tree in my background was severely damaged by storms last July. I have used Davey before for tree work, and called them again. I needed a company that could handle a large job. I received an estimate within 10 days, but it took several weeks and calls to get the job schedule. It took most of a day to do the work, but it went well. The electric company had to come and move wires. The workers took care of calling the company. Workers were courteous and left the yard in great condition cleaning up all the debris.

Matt got there very promptly, left a quote, answered my call for some clarification, and removed the tree within two days.

So far no call back, so although I am marking that I would hire them again because I had to make a selection, I really don't have an opinion on their work yet. They must be very busy, so I will try to call them back again.

Very professional. Bid right away. Came to do the work within a week and have been following up to see if I need any other work this year.

They're clearly not interested in my business.

Price is unbelievable. Very careful, responsive, and did excellent work. They were honest in what they did.

We requested that someone come to give us some advice about work to be done and an estimate and we were able to set an appointment that worked with our schedule. The representative was very thorough and patient with my questions, provided an explanation of all the services we discussed and provided an easy to understand written bid. Once we decided to go with their service we mailed the bid in and within a matter of days the service was performed while we were at work and a few weeks later we received a bill in the mail. The services were performed as described on the bid summary and the waste created by the services completely removed. We will be using them for future services.

We live in the City of Saint Louis and it does seem difficult to find people willing to give an estimate.

I called for an estimate and they never showed up.

Estimate was not timely and was overpriced.

Davey Tree Service is awesome. They sent workers out the very next day after we accepted their bid.They trimmed the trees exactly as we wanted. In addition, they also removed old tree limbs/debris from my back yard for me at no extra cost. Very nice and courteous to deal with.

VERY POLITE, PROFESSIONAL AND OBVIOUSLY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. THIS WAS A HUGH JOB AND TOOK 3 MEN APPROXIMATELY 18 TO 20 HOURS TOTAL, OVER A 3 DAY PERIOD. THEY HAD TO WORK AROUND A CONCRETE DRIVEWAY, GARAGE AND HOUSE. WORTH EVERY PENNY.

THE ESTIMATE WAS FAIRLY HIGH AND WAS NOT VERY PROFESSIONALLY PREPARED (SLOPPY AND HARD TO READ). WE DIDN'T FEEL THAT THE COMPANY CARED IF THEY GOT THE JOB OR NOT. THEREFORE, WE DIDN'T HIRE THEM.

THE ESTIMATE TOOK SEVERAL WEEKS TO BE PREPARED AND WAS SLOPPY AND INCOMPLETE WHEN IT DID ARRIVE. FOR EXAMPLE, THE REPRESENTATIVE WAS NOT AWARE THAT THERE WAS A BACK YARD AS WELL AS A FRONT YARD. WE DIDN'T HIRE THE COMPANY.
