"Thank you [Member Name Removed] for your review of our services! It was our pleasure to work with you."
"We greatly appreciate the chance to work with you on your project and also appreciate your feedback. We did wish to share that your solar components were premium components at somewhat of a premium cost, but, allowed us to maximize your available roof space to get the most solar production from a fixed area. We apologize if we were slow to respond to your requests for information in anyway after the installation. We very much want to hear additional feedback after installations on how the systems are performing. Please feel free to reach us at any point through the email or phone at our office. I'm Dane, President of StraightUp, and I'm happy to send you my cell phone directly if I can help in any way. Lastly, we were very glad to hear from you in June that the previous month your solar system produced more than your home's electric usage - that's great! Thanks again, Dane"
We are very happy to have made the decision to go with STRAIGHT UP SOLAR !!!
Do know that this is a event that takes some time. I signed the contract in late Sept 2012. The local electric utility (AMEREN) then took about 30 days for the review cycle before they approved it. Ordering the material and waiting for my time in line then consumed the rest of the time until installation. Be patient, ask the occasional question and your contact at Straight Up Solar will keep you informed of your status. Weather events will also play a part.
The electrician comes first to install the internal components, the external shut off switch and the wiring from the basement to the attic. Someone needs to be present for that. The panel installers come next and while you are welcome to be present, it isn't necessary. Lastly the electrician returns to connect the panels to the wiring in the attic. He also set up the online monitoring application.
My biggest surprise was the cost. I was hoping to get a 3-to-4 kw system for around $21,000 (after incentives). But due to the dropping prices, I was able to get a 7.68 kw system for just under $14,000 (after incentives). I've already received the utility incentive and am waiting for my company's incentive. Applying for the federal tax credit will be next.
My only regret is not taking a little more time to reflect in the beginning about a larger system. I was so excited about the cost/size issue that I jumped the gun a little bit. Expanding is an option I will consider after I see how the current system performs once the summer rolls in. Be assured that if I choose to expand I will be going to Straight Up Solar.
Thanks for all your hard work.
We lost a month waiting on Microgrid but StraightUp Solar was able to come in, accomodate us and expedite our project and complete it in time to meet the requirements of our loan.
The entire crew was very friendly and professional and explained what they were doing every step of the way.
"Thanks Member! Hope all is going well and please let me know if you and Richard are ready to add more panels to your system! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year. Eric S. Swillinger"
