ST LOUIS ZOO CATERING

The dinner was lovely. Bette, our party captain for the evening, was a trooper as the storm threatened to ---and then did ---burst on us while we still had guests stranded at various stages of arriving. Flights were delayed due to weather. I can t tell you how many trips Bette must have made back and forth in her golf "limo" to keep the guests dry---whew! The groom's family is from the diplomatic community where they do a lot of formal entertaining as part of their jobs. They were so pleased with the event Jason and his staff coordinated for us! I heard over and over from them about the amazing attention to detail (their words) on everything from the way the napkins were arranged at the place settings to the seamless serving of the meal, the beautiful presentation, and the most delicious accommodation of all the dietary restrictions. not to mention Bette s ever-gracious attention to every need. We also had a contingent of guests who were the bride's friends from college. They still live in NYC so thought nothing of taking Metrolink and the bus. Unfortunately, that let them out at the North Entrance (They hadn t remembered the maps Jason provided with the warning to be sure to use the South Entrance). They thanked the rangers who did let them in through the North Entrance so they wouldn t have to run all the way around the outside of the Zoo in the pouring rain. The beautifully landscaped, enclosed patio with its waterfall and the aquarium did exactly as we d hoped in entertaining the younger guests. Jason's suggestion to stick with two rooms even as our numbers dwindled gave the kids plenty of room to dance and wiggle and the grown-ups plenty of room to mingle as the evening progressed.
