ST LOUIS FITNESS CLUB

I have been with SLFC for a number of years, and I find that they are the better deal around town. I thought of switching to Club Fitness because of the membership rates, but once I saw how dirty and outdated that facility was--I was glad to come home to my gym. You don't need to be in top shape to workout here. It is not a meat market, ladies. I also like the classes are free for members--and it is first come, first serve. the trainers want the best results for you, and the amenities are just fine in my opinion. They also have tanning stations and childcare available if those pertain to you. I wish the costs were a little more reasonable, but it's a small business, so I can understand the price difference in comparison to big box gyms.

I've been with them for 17 years and there's nobody else like them. Its up to date and they are professional.

They were pretty good. The only thing that I didn't like much was their cleaning but I kind of expected that.

I like them. They are small and friendly. They are open 24 hours. They have a lot of classes that are free with the membership. It is kind of older so the equipment is not new.

This is a great place to exercise, and it's extremely convenient, which is why my wife and I renewed our membership yet again. The staff are helpful and courteous if ever you need something (e.g., explanation of how some machine works). Dawn, who signed me and my wife up 2.5 years ago, still greets me by name when I see her. The facilities are clean; there are disinfectant spray bottles and towels liberally placed around the cardio and weight areas to encourage members to wipe down machines after use. Also, they keep making visible improvements. For example, during the past year they painted some murals on several walls, built a juice and healthy-snack bar and added new cardio machines (striders, stairmasters. Just last week I noticed they had some new landscaping done in front. NOTE: The approximate cost above is 1/2 of a basic 1-year membership fee for an adult+1.

My wife and I have been members of this fitness club for nearly one year and have been entirely satisfied. When we initially stopped by to inquire about membership, Dawn immediately gave us a tour of the facilities and explained the member benefits and various options without pressuring us to join or pushing any particular option. We initially chose a 6-month membership and earlier this year renewed for a full year. We've been very pleased with the facilities, staff, and atmosphere. The 24-hr access is super convenient; the staff are personable, helpful, and courteous, and the equipment is well organized and generally well maintained, even when some cardio machines are out of service there are usually several backups of the same machine, and it's rarely so crowded you can't get on a particular type of machine. They seem to be adding new equipment and making improvements regularly. We expect to be members indefinitely.
