BUY FROM ANYONE ELSE!@ I have never been so embarrassed to have made a purchase from a vendor. We paid over $2000 for a new washer/dryer. WE paid an extra $270 for the Protection Plan. The dryer stopped working within a month, and we spent the next several months trying to get it fixed. We had nearly a dozen botched attempts at them sending third party vendors. They accept no responsibility for the products they sell, the vendors that are supposed to service the protection plans they sell, and the owner won't even respond to multiple attempts to recieve a basic level of service.

I ostensibly purchased a display model dishwasher from the O'Fallon store. Prior to the purchase, I noticed a single, slight dent on the face of the dishwasher and was told the discounted price was reflective of that imperfection. Fine. I can live with that blemish given the price adjustment, bought the dishwasher and had it delivered a few days later. Surprisingly, though, the dishwasher that arrived at my house was NOT THE SAME unit I viewed at the store and intended to purchase. Slyman Brothers delivered a different dishwasher (same make/model as the floor unit, though) that was in significantly worse shape than the unit I thought I was buying. The front of the dishwasher delivered to my house is beat up with multiple dents and scratches. Additionally, one of the leveling legs is broken and the adjoining structural plastic frame is cracked, indicative of the unit being dropped on that leg. I called the store to seek restitution and was told that since my wife - who accepted delivery while I was at work - did not unpackage the dishwasher and note these problems upon delivery, I have no recourse. Well done, Slyman Brothers. You got me. What a great way to unload open-box, damaged items you want out of inventory. Show the customer a decent-looking floor model, but deliver a different unit that somewhere along the way has become unsaleable unless you can find an idiot like me to take it off your hands using the time-tested bait and switch concept. You should change your advertising tagline to the PT Barnum quote "There's a sucker born every minute." Fortunately for me, though, I learn from my mistakes and will NEVER do business with your company again. Anyone reading this review should follow my lead.

I purchased a portable dishwasher. They not only price matched, they gave me a substantially better deal. Now because of the Covid pandemic, delivery was delayed slightly. This was not an issue as they communicated with me to let me know. The day of delivery, I was given a call ahead and the driver was presentable and very professional. I highly recommend Slyman Bros for any and all your appliance needs. You won't be disappointed.

Great appliances

There was a small miscommunication on their end that resulted in the old dishwasher remaining on our back porch from Friday evening until Monday morning. This was not a big inconvenience and does not affect our overall rating of the experience. We would be happy to do business with Slyman Brothers again.

I was looking for a local business instead of a big-box store. Jake at Slyman Brothers was very helpful. I walked in thinking I knew what I wanted. He politely asked a few questions, explained some additional options, and demonstrated a few features. I ended up selecting a dishwasher that fits my needs better than the one I had in mind. John, the installer, arrived on schedule. He did a careful job of the installation, including removing the old dishwasher. He and his assistant were pleasant, efficient and professional.

My 19 year old Amana washer and dryer were dying a slow death so I finally decided to replace them. I combed the internet comparing brands and models and read numerous reviews. I finally decided to buy GE. A friend of mine has replaced all of her appliances through Slyman Brothers, so I called the Hampton office. Joe was extremely courteous and quoted me an excellent price on the machines I wanted. I gave him my credit card info over the phone and the deal was done. On 9/3/2014, two deliverymen arrived. They were prompt, appropriately dressed, and ready to work. It was not easy to get the old washer and dryer up out of the basement and the new machines in place. They didn't complain and set to work. They hooked up the gas dryer, put new hoses on the washer and then tested both machines to ensure they worked properly with no leaks. All my other appliances are 19 years old and, I am sure, will have to be replaced soon. I will definitely use Slyman Brothers again and would recommend them to anyone.

The sales staff was very helpful. I ordered over the telephone so that I could take measurements at home during the sale. It was hard to find machines to fit in the space I had. The delivery people were on time and did a good job. They removed the old appliances too.

It was a good experience overall. They were friendly and knowledgeable. We never felt pressured to buy which we really liked! They were very helpful when we needed it, including after the sale. Our range hood's lights flickered when we turned on the stove so they sent a repair person out to check it out. (As it turns out, the range hood needed a dedicated circuit.)

Visited the store, described our needs and solicited their advice. I had done business with Slyman's in the past and was always more than satisfied. They suggested a variety of setups, always suggesting the qualities of each, but not 'pushing' the pricier items for the sake of a sale. We purchased a unit, which they offered to us at a discounted price. Agreed to deliver prior to our home project being in place as the contractor wanted the unit in place to be sure all would fit.
Slyman's delivered the unit a few days in advance, but also indicated they would always be available if needed to assist. We had occasion to visit the store since installation with some questions regarding vibration, but that issue was quickly resolved. Still, management assured us that they were willing to come in, as needed.
They are truly 'people' oriented, satisfaction before the sale, and willing to follow-up as needed.

This is a wonderful family owned company. They are very knowledgable and not high pressured. They all have a common goal and that is to please the customers. I would highly recommend them and they also have very good delivery people that are regular people. The delivery people have all been very courteous and trustworthy. They beat all the prices on the website or anywhere else. I am going to remodel my kitchen and all of my appliances will come from the Slyman Brothers.

They really worked with me and made sure I had the best rebate. They accommodated to my scheduling changes. They were really good. I rely on them and always use their services. They always deliver and are our neighborhood company.

They have free delivery and installation. The price is reasonable. They will match prices of another competitor. The guys are very helpful and flexible with delivery.

Over the last year and a half we have bought a range, a refrigerator, and now a dryer. When we had problems with our range, we called them (not GE) and they set up everything with GE. When I had a knob strip on my stove, I called them to see where to buy a new one and Bobby told me they weren't cheap or easy to get and if I just brought mine in, he would replace it, and he did. They are local, they earn your business every day, and they deserve your loyalty. After exhaustive research and shopping the competition both at stores and on line, I have found that they are by far the cheapest and the best.

They are fantastic! Their customer service is excellent. The stove I ordered had to be shipped in, and it was delivered and hooked up within three days of payment. The gentlemen who installed the stove were incredibly nice and professional. I highly recommend this company to others. They will definitely meet or exceed any deals that you can find elsewhere.
