Russo Stone & Tile Design LLC
About us
From measuring to fabricating to installation, we’ll never take a shortcut. If ten steps of polish are required to get that piece of stone to where it needs to be, that’s what we’ll do. Because, there’s only one way to do this job – and that’s the right way! Long after it’s installed, we still consider your counter top as our own. We spend great time and effort creating and installing our products, so if a piece happens to get chipped years from now, we want to know about it. It’s our mission to ensure your pride in our counter top is maintained. Because there are plenty of automated machines that can “do the job,” many newcomers have ventured into the natural-stone counter top business as a way to create additional revenue. But “doing the job” correctly still requires experienced craftsmen who can hand-cut, fabricate and polish a piece of natural stone – and create a beautiful and unique piece of art. Russo Stone and Tile Design doesn't sub-contract our installations. Each of our technicians are also very experienced craftsman – trained to handle all aspects of the project during time of installation.

Do NOT be afraid to use them because of the aforementioned "problem" it was a fluke and would not happen again. I only mention it because I want you to know what a fantastic job he did about making it right. I can not rate them high enough. You will be glad you chose them.
Everyone showed up ON TIME and worked hard. Moving granite is very difficult but these guys knew what they were doing and it showed!
"Thanks [member name removed], we appreciate the kind words. We're glad your project turned out so nice...enjoy."
"This homeowner was terrific to work with. (member name removed) had a very specific design in mind and we spent a lot of time to meet her expectations. This morning she invited me back to the jobsite to see the finished project. We have these pictures posted on the Russo Facebook page. Thanks for the kind words about Russo's dedication and professionalism."
Happy customer!
"Thanks so much for the kind words. We hope you enjoy your countertops for years to come."
"Member, Thanks for the kind words. We enjoyed working with."
Reba our salesperson and Rheema who schedules the job were very helpful in detailing all the work that was required, and we agreed on an installation date. John and Josh arrived early that morning, to be followed by their foreman Willie. The removal of the old top took 20 minutes and then they carefully prepared the site to install the sink and the new top. The sink was slightly smaller than our original so they had to carefully put supporting wood strips to hold it firm. Then came the Viatara top in two pieces to make the L. I was concerned about the seam between the two pieces showing, but they carefully shimmed it to be perfectly true and filled it with epoxy matching our top color. It was then epoxied all around, the hole for the sink and soap dispenser was drilled, and the whole top was meticulously cleaned.
They even helped by putting our microwave oven in place.
It just was an outstanding job.
"We just love to hear nice comments about our people. They really make the difference when doing a remodeling project. Thanks for your business and your honest Angie's List report."
After comparing and visiting various companies in the St. Louis/St. Charles area that specialize in providing new countertops, I chose to go with Solid Surface Resources. During a lunch hour in November of 2011, I visited Solid Surface Resources. I found their cozy show room provided a well organized display of various countertop materials which allowed me to visually and easily compare side by side. A salesperson (Reba Green) was promptly available to assist me. I provided a simple sketch of my current countertop surface dimensions. I provided her with information as to what I was looking for in a countertop material such as colors, patterns and edge types. After quickly showing me the wide selection of materials for consideration that they provide, she showed me a quartz product from LG that perfectly matched our project specifications. After viewing the display of color selections, I was able to quickly narrow down to 3 color choices. My salesperson (Reba Green) was able to provide me with a couple of scrap samples from the on-site shop which I was able to keep and take home and match up with flooring and paint samples. Based on the dimensions I provided Reba, she was able to email me a detailed estimate on the same day of my visit.
That evening my wife and I compared the sample provided by Solid Surface Resources with other sample material we had from other companies. We decided we liked the LG Quartz material and color the best. The overall cost estimate from Solid Surface Resources was actually a little more reasonable than other estimates we had from other companies. The next day, we notified our salesperson (Reba) that we were interested in them for this project. And that I was a couple weeks out from contacting them again to have them come out and measure for new countertops I was installing.
A couple weeks later as planned, we informed the company that we were ready for them to come out and measure for a new countertop. Within two business days (Greg) came out and carefully took detailed measurements and notes. He then carefully reviewed the specifications with me and I verified the final plans.
From what I understand, it normally takes 2 weeks or more from measurement to install. However, to accommodate my tight project schedule, Solid Surface Resources was able to install our new countertop only 1 week after measurement.
The installers came out seemed very experienced and did a good job installing the (company provided) sink to the countertop, and then the countertop and backsplash to the cabinets. I'm glad I left this to the professionals.
During the entire process, Solid Surface Resources responded quickly and thoroughly to any questions and inquiries (through phone or email) from my first visit to after project completion. They kept me well informed as to progress during the process which was key to keep up with my tight schedule.
MY COUNTERTOP from Solid Surface Resources IS MAGNIFICENT AND GETTING LOTS OF COMPLIMENTS FROM EVERYONE THAT SEE'S IT.
Now that my home remodeling project is completed, I wanted others to know that I'm a very satisfied customer of Solid Surface Resources and would recommend them for ANY projects that require the use of materials such as marble, granite, quartz and a few others that this company offers.
"SSR was very happy to assist this client with their project. The job looks terrific and we have another happy client. Thanks to our staff for the terrific service."
A couple of items to note. They seem to be busier than other companies, so the lead time for the fabrication is somewhat longer than others, schedule the installation dates early.
We previously understood that the granite slabs are rated A, B, C and D, and with their corresponding price levels. When Goeff went with us to select the granite slabs, we really like one particular slab. Geoff said that will be even more expensive than the D granites, and said this was an exotic class stone and had to be priced separately. We ended up paying much more to get this slab. While we are very happy with the granite selection and the work that was done by SSR, this one situation put a small question-mark in the back of our mind.
Overall, we are very happy with Goeff and SSR services.
The first step was to set up an appointment to take measurements, a few days after which we went to look at the stone samples at Solid Surface Resources. The one we liked most was a few inches too small so we went with our second choice. I think the Big Deal offer was meant for a bathroom vanity but they were flexible in making it work for a bar install. Installation was quick and painless, though I had to remove the old bartop / sink (due to the deal terms) and, post-install, redo the plumbing because it interfered with the sink.
End result - it's awesome! Their work was first-rate and their communication and follow-through was appreciated.
I had three companies bid the job. SSR was not the cheapest, but I was confident they would do a good job because their questions to me were more thorough and they were so professional, so I went with them. I am so glad I did! First, Geoff spent a while with me laying out the template on the stone so it was just right. Second, I thought the installers were very polite and nice to have around. Third, Geoff was clear about the time it would take from templating to install, and it wound up being just over a week, so it was very timely despite the fact that they were clearly busy. Fourth, they drilled the holes for the counters on site, so I could make good choices about where the faucets would go in relation to my workspace. Fifth, the company's owner stopped by during the installation to check out the work (and the unusual granite I had chosen!), which was really nice. Finally, the installers spent a lot of time with me afterward, showing me how to care for the granite and answering all my questions about sealers and maintenance products. Overall, my experience with Solid Surface Resources was a very positive one, and I would recommend them without reservation.
"Thanks Member. We are glad we were able to assist you with this service call. I will pass along your compliments to our staff...they really are good guys."
"Thanks member for your kind words. As stated in your comments, price is never the leading indicator for performance. Angie's List members are all about performance and we fit this nicely. We are looking forward to helping with your next project."
The customer service staff were great-very helpful. The service reps were incredible-they gentleman who came to measure the template made sure I understood exactly what he was doing & why it was an important component of the project, e.g., it would be used to actually fabricate the granite. He explained the various markings & their importance to the fabricator.
The gentlemen who came out to tear out the old granite & install the new were so nice & clearly experts, which actually convinced us we needed to replace the remaining granite. To avoid delay, the gentleman came out the next morning to create the template & the remaining granite was fabricated & installed in less than 10 days.
A friend of mine is an interior designer & I recommended that she consider Solid Surface Resources for all her counter top projects.
