It went well

The installation went well and I was pleased with the overall result. The lead installer, Ron, was excellent.

The only problem with the company is that they overbook and therefore are reluctant to take care of some of the other issues involved in hardwood installation - such as installing new baseboards or fixing subfloor issues. I was forced to get other contractors to accomplish these tasks.

I would use Prestige again for a hardwood installation.

Kitchen turned out to be an unexpected problem because it took 3-days just to removed the old flooring. Much of the family room and some of the front room were uneven and had to leveled at additional cost to me. The actual installation of the new hardwood went well and looked great. My main problem with this company was that they seemed to be over-booked and pressed for time to complete the job. In installing the hardwood around the fireplace, they managed to step in the adhesive used to hold it in place and track it throughout much of the house. I had to call them back to correct this, which they did. The fact that I had to catch this problem and call them back is why I only rated them as fair for professionalism. I believe that they should have taken care of this problem prior to calling this job complete and expecting full pay payment, which is what happened.

Everything went extremely well from our first contact to owner John Masarras (sp?), to completion of the job. The installers were excellent and their work turned out to be fantastic. They were efficient and very experienced - the results are absolutely perfect. We really appreciated their prompt arrival, the great job they did, and the thorough cleanup afterwards. We're so happy with Prestige, we've referred them to others already. We also anticipate doing some new floors in two other rooms and will definitely go with Prestige for the installation when we do.

The job went very well. Two crews did the work ...one installed the new flooring and the other sanded the new and existing hardwood and refinished the entire flooring, approximately 1200 square feet. Both crews were prompt, professional and cleaned up before leaving each day. John, the owner is great to work with...he is very responsive and promptly addressed any issues that came up. We would highly recommend Prestige Flooring.

I would recommend Prestige Flooring without hesitation. The team of installers (we had Ron and Jeremy) are awesome in all aspects. They did a flawless installation of the hardwood floors, were very courteous, upbeat, punctual, hard working and knowledgeable. When they encountered an issue with the way house was constructed, they immediately escalated the issue to their management and John personally helped troubleshooting the problem and a resolution was secured the same day. The job was completed on time and on budget, even after an unexpected delay. They cleaned everything after installation and the area was ready to and quot;move-inand quot; earlier than expected. The floors look great, we received lots of compliments from friends and family who stayed over. I plan to hire Prestige Flooring again, when time comes to refinish hardwood floors on the main level.

Professional operation. The previous owner had dogs for 40 years. We had one floor stained from dogs urinating through the carpeting that we did not expect to be able to be able to leave uncovered. Prestige came in and worked their magic and the floor looks like new.

They did a great job. They were very knowledgeable about the different types of floors, how to handle the stairs, etc. They purchased the materials, let sit for 7 days, then they installed it all in 2 days. They were careful with the trim, and put all the trim back, covered the nail holes, etc. There was a couple of minor gaps in 2 of the closet doorways but they were happy to come back and patch it up.

I had a complaint, but they worked it out for me. I had asked for a written work order, but we did everything verbal. There was a room that they weren't supposed to do, but they sanded down the floors and had it ready to be refinished. The experience was good and I will probably use them again because they resolved everything pretty well.

The floors look good, however the level of service was lacking. This was estimated as a 3.5 day job, however there was only 1 person on the job site for the first 3 days, causing delays. On the last day, when the floor was not complete, John Sr demanded payment. Since we had a "pay upon completion" agreement, I did not feel comfortable paying until the work was done and asked that he return later that evening when the job was complete. John indicated that he did not want to drive back to O'Fallon later. He became angry and rude, then peeled out of the subdivision in his truck. I paid later that afternoon when the job was done. A few days later we found a closet that had no flooring or baseboards. It took about 3 weeks to get the crew back on site to finish and then they were 3 hours late. Care for my home was not a priority, as walls were dented, vinyl siding damaged by the entry way, and food left in our fridge.

John and his crew were very polite and easy to deal with. I think I ended up with a beautiful floor and would recommend using Prestige to lay hardwood flooring. I did have a handprint from wood filler left on my mattress when they moved it and a couple of dents in the wall but nothing I couldn't deal with. I think that little things will always come up whether you do the job yourself or hire out. There were a couple of places where wood filler was used due to cracking but I think this is normal when installing hardwood.

Ron and Rob did an excellent job of installing our hardwood floors and hardwood baseboards, they even brought up concerns that we would not have thought of and came up with recommendations. John Massara repeatedly came by to make sure we were happy with the job, but that wasn't necessary as Ron and Rob always took care of everything on their own.
