Nix's Fix's Painting and Drywall

Overall, this was a unfavorable experience and my expectation of what I was paying for vs what I received was disconnected. I take responsibility for my part in not getting proper documentation and additional quotes lesson learned. Tracy seemed very knowledgeable about drywall and how everything should be treated which is where I got sideways. When he provided me a quote over the phone he gave a specific price that seemed reasonable but once he got out to our house he said he had a "significant" amount of work was needed and increased the quote by $300. This is where I didn't do my due diligence as I assumed significant meant 6-8 hrs of work and having everything paint ready. The cost wasn't in writing and I didn't get a per hour estimate. This was all my mistake as based on his ability to talk about the project I assumed he was providing a fair price based on the work needed. He repaired the drywall where we discussed but it was actually only 2.5-3 hrs of work. A door trim piece was broke and his response was I should caulk it. In addition, also drywall dust was still all on over the walls that I mentioned doesn't that mean it isn't paint and the recommendation was "I would prime it but I know how to paint." I wasn't going to write a review but I work hard for my money and want to make sure a working busy family doesn't make the same mistake.
