He came and cut out the small areas that were burnt and replaced it with leftover carpet from what was left over when the carpet was originally laid. It looked as good as new when he was done.

Nick was wonderful and completed the job of laying new pad and re-stretching the carpet. ~250sqft. He was accommodating and had no issues accepting the relatively small job.

Nick responded in a timely manner to my phone calls, gave me a time window in which he could do the repair and showed up within that time window. He professionally repaired the carpet such that the repair is hardly visible to me and could not even be found by someone else. I'm very pleased with the result.

It went great and the job was perfect. I have used Nick before and he is very professional and does excellent work.

This is the third time we have used Nick and we have been happy each time. There is no A+ rating or we'd use that. Nick is professional, punctual, polite & awesome to work with. In a world of unreliable companies I would never hesitate to recommend Nick's services to anyone. When we redo the rest of the carpet in our house my wife and I plan on calling Nick. Nick has great prices and great service, the holy grail of contractor qualities in our book.

Nick arrived on time and got right to work. The cost was fair, considering the amount of labor required, Out carpet was originally installed badly by a now-defunct company and had become wrinkled and unsafe.We did have to move our own furniture out for the job. After Nick had finished, the carpet looked great, Now we don't have to be embarrassed to have overnight guests.

Nick restreched our living room carpet, put in new new tack boards. Great to work with, on time, fair price.

the overall experience with Nick went well. Nick was knowledgeable and a veteran of the trade as well as easy to communicate with. Nick installed our upper level carpet which was a standard installation and went off without incident. The turn around stair was the tricky part. It was a nice rug and required edging and meticulous measuring before it was sent out to be edged. All of this went well and we are very pleased with the installation.

Nick came out as arranged and inspected the carpeting. He agreed with me that in was a very poor original installation job but he could fix it and suggested I do so rather then replacing it as it was still in good condition. He restretched the entire area and did a fantastic job. I had it cleaned the same day by another Angie's list business, The Spot Man, and it looks like new. I'm sure I can get another 6-7 years out of it and saved a bundle over new.

Nick completed the work in a very timely manner (less than 3 hours) and was within the quoted price. He did a great job re-laying the existing carpet (which was not in great shape) and I could tell he took pride in his work.

Workmanship was excellent and worked around my schedule. I'll use the company again for my next flooring replacement.

Excellent. Nick advised me as to how to optimize the insulation value of the carpet/pad, and his advice was spot on - the room was much warmer since installing the thick pad and carpet. The carpet was well-installed, and is wearing well. The only tiny downside is that Nick does not move any large furniture (because he works alone), so you must do it yourself or make arrangements for someone else to do it.

I picked up a carpet remnant at a carpet store which I really liked, but when she told me how much it would cost to have one of their subcontractors install it ($450) I thought I could find something better. I called Nick Gaines and he talked me through some of my options for the edge of the carpeting that didn't meet the wall. He was knowledgeable and willing to do the work for $250. He came and did a terrific job in only a few hours while I was at work. I was pleased with the result, and would hire him again.
