When I bought my home, I noticed my front door was smaller than the door frame. Fine for the summer, but truly noticeable during the winter with the cold air coming through the gap. I searched around for some estimates on a front door replacement. These included Home Depot and several handymen / home remodeling companies that all wanted to rip out the current door frame and start from scratch. This was not my favorite option as the extra work caused the prices to significantly jump up. I heard about Tom (owner of Nevis Construction) from a friend who used him for some home remodeling work and decided to get another estimate. Tom arrived on time for the estimate, was courteous, and explained how a new door could be added without damaging or replacing the frame. This, of course, brought down the price significantly. Tom also recommended a storm door for insulation and security. Once the custom door arrived, Tom showed up the next day to install the main door as well as the storm. The work was completed in an afternoon and I appreciated that he cleaned up after himself, including vacuuming up the sawdust (rare for remodeling people I have had work on my house thus far). The invoice matched the price of the estimate and the price was certainly reasonable. I would recommend Tom for any home remodeling work ad will certainly hire him again.
