ceramic tile, flooring contractor, hardwood floor, remodeling
+ 2 moreCouldn't be happier. FANTASTIC. Pinching myself. I got lucky and I'll take it. I was ready to delay the work and have someone else do it for much more than I paid and they wanted to charge me extra for picture frame, floor vents, breathing, etc. Everything was extra. Zemir was very fair and didn't nickel and dime me for everything. I was so happy, I paid him more than he charged. After 4-5 contractor visits and subsequent bids, with several suggestions on how I should replace my entry foyer and blah blah, I was talking with my Mom and she said 'call Zemir'. Who? And then a neighbor said 'call Zemir'. Okay, starting to notice a trend here. Both said same thing 'if you want an honest, hardest working guy with highest quality and an unbelievably fair price, then call Zemir'. So I called him. After finishing the job, I can honestly say he was better than described. I can't say enough about him. Everything was well done, everything was cleaned up afterwards. I've got more work for him. I've got 5 neighbors lined up with bigger houses than mine to redo their flooring. Not sure what else to say?
Description of Work: About my house: I live in Wildwood/Chesterfield Valley area. I love our house, but it isn't anything special. 2 story, about 3k sq ft, 3 car blah blah blah. I do take great care of it and I make sure all workmanship is high quality. My house may not be the Taj, but I prefer to do it right the first time. Fortunately, I got lucky and found Zemir Husic. Here is what he did: - Replaced carpet and laminate flooring in 3 rooms, including a very large great room - Services included (a) removing existing flooring and baseboards (b) transporting new hardwood flooring to site (c) leveling floors (d) installing new underlayment (e) installing pre-finished hardwood flooring (hickory), including picture frame design in 2 rooms (f) installing new baseboards and quarter round (g) replacing staining and finishing hardwood floor registers to match flooring and anything else required to completed job in quality manner. I was so happy with his work, I also hired him to install new triple crown moulding throughout 2 floors of home. As he told me, his specialty is working with wood. And he specializes in steps too, which is our next job. Additionally, he showed me pictures of his work with ceramic and stone tiling - that is on the docket too as we'll rip out our kitchen in next year or so. He is very hardworking, honest as the day is long, quality is FANTASTIC, and his price is very fair. No idea how you get better. His prices were so fair that I was actually worried. But I had solid references and now I'm just tickled he was referred to me. I can't stop smiling. Go ahead and check out the others, get a bid, and then call Zemir. Btw, that is what I did and I got lucky. I was ready to pick one of the others and my Mom said 'are you crazy, call Zemir'. Let me put it another way, for hardwood flooring (same or less work), I had more than one company that bid $25-$30k and above. Yeah, good luck with that. Okay, back to finished product. We're very social with our neighbors and we like to have folks over for happy hours, Super Bowls, etc. They can't stop talking about how beautiful the floors are. I have a neighbor that has already hired Zemir to finish his entire house. He loved our floor choice, so he's doing it in same product :) And I have a neighbor that is absolutely ga-ga about the floor registers - she just thinks that is the coolest thing. So, they are $60 pre-finished at the distributor. Zemir said 'no, I can do those for $40. That isn't a fair price'. So he bought the unfinished wood floor register, stained them and finished them at home, and then installed them at end of the job. At first, I wasn't sure if the stain color on the triple crown moulding would match existing crown, but he hit the nail on the head. I swore it was too light, but he told me 'no, I'm positive that is right color'. Yeah, he was right. And the crown looks fantastic. Everything he did looks fantastic. I have no doubt in my mind that I would have paid 3x if someone else did the work. I was so happy, I gave him more than he billed. He even went out to hardwoods store to pick out the unfinished product with me and brought it back to the house to finish. Realize I'm gushing, but I can't say enough great things about him.
