This is a small neighborhood shop that nearly everyone in Holly Hills uses, so they can/do get quite busy. It's usually a good idea to call ahead to schedule an appointment when possible. Because they are a small shop with a large customer base, it sometimes means that you may not get a call as fast as you'd like, or your car may take a bit longer for them to get to. Mike and his crew are top notch, and I can't say enough about their honesty and skills. In 19 years I've had to take a car back exactly ONCE for a repeat visit for a problem--due to a faulty alternator. Mike stood behind his work and replaced it at no additional cost to me. If you want a good honest shop that does quality work, Mel's is your place.

It went well. They did a good job on the repair and the price was fair. It's a small shop, so sometimes I have to wait to have my car serviced.

I needed to get an emissions inspection. Mel's is close to my house. On my way to work I stopped in to see if they performed emissions inspections. They informed me that they did. When I told them I was on my way to work and I would make an appointment for later they said they could do the inspection that very moment if I wanted them to. I said yes. It took very little time. Very convenient.

It went just fine. Mel's is just a block from my house. I noticed the nail in my tire the day before I went to Mel's. I dropped my car off that morning. I did not have an appointment but I told them they could have the car the whole day. They fixed the tired by that afternoon. It's kind of a casual atmosphere. I'm used to the more formal treatment at the dealership where I bought the car. Everyone I encountered there was friendly and relaxed.

They are excellent in what they do. You can trust them with anything on the car. The service is good. They are good people. They have done things for me that should have been charged for but never have. When I call for something they are right there to help.
