They need work with their internal communications between sales and delivery. The sales guy didn't come to the site, a sub-contracted worker came and he really didn't know what he was doing. I called and had them send somebody else. I told them I was not going to approve the templates for use on my slab of granite that took forever to get. Marble & Granite Worldwide is a fabricator not a supplier so they send you to a supplier that they like to work with or have a purchase agreement with. I wasn't going to sign off on the templates because I had no confidence in the man's ability. He said several times that he wasn't sure how the granite should be laid out. He didn't know about the seams and the weak spots. A second template person came out and he was a lot more competent and straightforward in explaining why the seams had to go in a certain place. It looked good. There was a tricky area that is horseshoe shaped and there were some places that were challenging but the basic piece was not challenging. They told us one supplier went out of business, which wasn't true. The whole thing should have taken 3 weeks and it took about 8 weeks to get my kitchen done. I had worked with them before but we did our own template and measurements and bought a remnant so we took the full load of all the work. We went back to them because it seemed very easy to work with them the first time but we had done our own template. The template guy needs to explain to the people that cut it what the kitchen looks like and it would be good if they took pictures of the kitchen to show them. It was 1/2 inch too big and they wanted to grind it in my driveway. I told them to take it back to their shop. I felt like I had to threaten them. They were very punctual and showed up right when they said they would.

We paid half for a deposit on granite countertops. MGW came and drew the templates May 15,2010 and told us it would be two weeks til the countertops were ready and installed. We set up an appt. for installation and no one showed up- no phone call either. We set up another appt and same thing happened. We finally learned that the granite yard would not release the granite slabs to MGW because MGW OWES THEM MONEY. So now they have our deposit money. We tried to get our sinks back from them and the office was locked up. Finally, we were able to pick up the sinks at the O'Fallon, MO facility. We have been put off every week, claiming they will return our money. WE STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED OUR MONEY BACK. We have since gone to a new fabricator who has promised to have the countertops ready in 7 days. NEVER, EVER USE MARBLE AND GRANITE WORLDWIDE LLC!! THIS COMPANY IS IN FINANCIAL TROUBLE AND ROB PETER TO PAY PAUL. Phone calls are not returned. Everyone who works there is a liar.

Project was completed on time and on budget. I was allowed to hand select the granite and use smaller remnant slabs to keep the cost down. Installation went well except one piece was broken. The replacement piece took about a week to get cut and installed. The overall price was very competitive with other quotes I received. Sales reps were very friendly and willing to work around my schedule changes.

WE CHOSE THIS COMPANY ON THE BASIS OF A REFERRAL FROM A FRIEND. WE ALSO GOT BIDS FROM THREE OTHER COMPANIES. M & G WAS THE LOWEST BID BY $700. IN FACT, THEIR BID FOR GRANITE COUNTERTOPS WAS LOWER THAN OTHER COMPANY'S BIDS FOR CORIAN OR SILESTONE. THE FINISHED PRODUCT IS BEAUTIFUL, AND THE WORKMANSHIP WAS EXCELLENT, WE HAVE RECEIVED NUMEROUS COMPLIMENTS. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE TIME IT TOOK TO INSTALL THE COUNTERTOPS. I WAS ORIGINALLY PROMISED THAT THE TOPS WOULD BE INSTALLED 3 WEEKS AFTER TEMPLATING, AND THE JOB WAS NOT COMPLETED UNTIL 6 WEEKS AFTER TEMPLATING. THIS WAS DUE TO A COMBINATION OF FACTORS, INCLUDING A LARGE GRANITE PIECE BROKEN IN TRANSPORT, AND A BACKSPLASH PIECE CUT TO THE WRONG LENGTH. HOWEVER, IF TIME IS NOT AN ISSUE, I RECOMMEND M & G BASED ON THE QUALITY OF MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP AS WELL AS PRICE. I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN.
