Mahley Building Group

This was not an easy process. We asked for details in the estimate and for a schedule of work. The estimate he kind of broke down, but because of this, there were a lot of arguments of what was in-scope and what was out-of-scope. Schedule was impossible to get and when we continued to ask we were told to quit micro managing. The work was sloppy, NEW walls were not level and needed to be redone. When we questioned why things where done a certain way - the response was "Why do you care?" Tyler does not have a crew (we were told he had two) - he subs everything out and seems to have no control over scheduling. The entire process started on Oct 2 and was not done until after the new year - over twice as long as he said it would take. Overall we were treated very unprofessionally and we would never work with Tyler again.

Our renovation project done by Mahley Building Group (Tyler Mahley) turned out to be a renovation nightmare.     It took 5 months to get project almost completed.   Although Tyler Mahley claims the project is complete, we still have the following problems; a heated floor that doesn?t work, a cracked granite vanity top, a shower enclosure that is not what we ordered, and very uneven decorative tile.   Six months later we are still fighting with Tyler Mahley to get the job completed.   Luckily we did not pay the final payment when Tyler Mahley asked for it part way through the project.
 
In general we found Tyler Mahley communicated very poorly with both us and the sub-contractors.   We also felt the quality of the sub-contractors was very poor.   When there were issues with the sub-contractors, and we did have issues with several of them, Tyler did not take responsibility for getting the issues resolved.   E.g., when the radiator that was moved did not work we finally called our own heating contractor to diagnose and fix  the problem,  the gaps in the hardwood floor were not filled before refinishing although we were specifically told they would be,  we were told the electric box could be mounted horizontally so it would be out of the way of the dryer and came home to find it mounted vertically just a few inches above the dryer.
 
Tyler Mahley will try to use his boyish charm on you to get you to trust him.   But beware, Mahley Building Group does not stand behind their work and leaves you with a poor quality project.
