Overall the experience was eye-opening. It never occurred to me that the house doesn't actually have a "working" fireplace. I have a living room fireplace, but no chimney above it. The chimney is actually on the opposite side of the roof. What a bummer! The Lloyd's Chimney rep gave me some very good input concerning how I could still use the fireplace using gas or electric logs, etc, which I will definitely look into.
When he informed me that there was no charge for his service call to my residence I asked him why. He responded that it was his company's policy not to charge for service calls where no actual service is provided. I was "EXTREMELY" impressed with that business attitude, but I refused to allow him to leave without a check for $65.00. Everybody's time is worth something, and gas is not cheap. I "totally respect" Lloyds Chimney Service's "no service charge policy," but I always pay for what I ask for, and I received exactly what I needed to know from the company's rep. Keep up the good work Lloyds Chimney. In the end you will be blessed for it...

Cleaned chimney, reattached chimney cap which came off in a storm. Went the extra mile and cut tree limbs which banged on the chimney and cleaned up perfectly

They tried to sell me a rebuild of the chimney. It does need tuckpointing, but I found the price to be excessive. Aside from that, they came when they said they would. They finished up and didn't leave a mess. They seemed very professional.

We called them at 8:30 am on the morning of the ice storm. We were afraid that our power would go out and we would not be able to use our fireplace, which had become unreliable - basically smoking up the whole house. They called back at 9:15 am, and arrived at 11:30 am. They fixed the problem, cleaned the chimney, cleaned up after themselves, and were out by noon. They were very courteous and professional. AND because of their quick response, we weathered the storm nice and cozy!

They were very responsive and did a really good job. It only took them a few minutes to do the job once they got here to do it. I was having a bad experience with another company and seen Lloyds across the street working and asked them about what I need done. They gentleman came right over, gave me an estimate and was here the next week to do the work.

The guy who came was very professional. He worked very promptly. He did a really good job. He talked to me about the chimney after he was done with his work. I thought that it was a good experience all over. He seemed a little high in price though I really don't know what they usually charge.

Great job. It was easy to schedule, and the work was completed promptly. Josh was punctual, efficient, and polite. He cleaned the fireplace chimney and examined the flue to the furnace; answered all of my questions; and left not a trace behind. After checking it from the roof as well as the basement, he also took time to explain that we should have LaClede Gas take a look at the furnace flue because it has a liner and also needs a screen over the top.

The office staff was easy to deal with and they made an appointment in a timely manner. The worker arrived within the window of time given. He cleaned the chimney and removed a dead squirrel, I felt bad for him. He stated that the chimney needed a new cap and that his company did not do that kind of work. He gave me the name of English Sweeps that does repair chimneys like this. He left the area very clean.

Our chimney needed screens put on the top of the chimney, b/c squirrels were getting in there and dying. I called Lloyd's to see if they would come by and give me an estimate on what exactly needs to be done. They said they'd come between 9-11 and they were on time. The service gentleman was very nice, quick and honest. He assessed our chimney and fixed the problem for less money than I was originally quoted and did not leave any mess behind. I will mention that we did have an unusual occurrence of large, slow flies in mass of about 50-65 in our house that weekend, after the service was rendered and it was really gross trying to get rid of them all. I don't know if it's correlated to the chimney, I believe it is, but nonetheless I don't think it was that big of a deal. I would definitely use this company again if I had chimney repair/ sweep needs. They are professional, courteous and quick. I think it was expensive, but they had the same prices as everyone else, so I guess that would be a fair price.

Rep cleaned chimney from inside with large vacuum going through the scrubbing and scrapping process. Large tarps were used to cover the floor and nearby furniture as a added precaution. Thanks to Angie's List, we were made aware of their senior discount. We mentioned it when we made the appointment and it was given with no questions asked. Rep indicated that fireplace was in good shape, so no follow-up actions were recommended. They had promised arrival in the noon to 3 PM time frame and arrived precisely at noon, which was great. Worker was attempting to enter the house with his equipment via the back door, but I explained that from past experience, we learned that the large vacuum would not go through the door. He thought it would, I said to go ahead and try it. It would not fit and he was a bit embarrassed, but young folks need to learn life lessons. No harm done.

I called them and they came out fairly soon. They did a very thorough job inspecting the chimney and then reporting their findings to me. I thought their prices were very reasonable. They covered everything to protect it from any soot. I think they did an all around great job!

The chimney sweep arrived within the time frame indicated by office personnel. He briefly explained what he was to do. He brought in a heavy duty drop cloth to protect rug and floor. Vacuumed and brushed interior of chimney. He climbed up on roof to examine the condition of the chimney. He made a verbal report. The whole process took about an hour. He submitted an invoice and received payment before he left.
