Jay Lewis made light of the extensive damages our home and belongings have after a lightning strike hit inside of our home, and he did not include accurate, truthful information in his report. He misspelled our last name and although he agreed to correct the spelling of our name and other facts, Jay Lewis has not bothered to do so. He said that the black matter all over the outside of our home is tannin or tannic acid. The testing laboratory said that it definitely is not tannin or tannic acid, and we sent a copy of the report the lab provided to Jay Lewis. The report indicated the black matter contains one type of mold and pollen that has developed. The chemist at the lab also said that the black matter is carbon. We explained to Jay Lewis that we heard a lightning strike hit the master bedroom/master bathroom wall on the inside of our home, and we purchased lightning strike reports we found out about through the U.S. Department of Commerce National Weather Data Center, and we sent them to Jay Lewis to verify the high number of lightning strikes they recorded that affected our address and around our home in July, August, and September of 2014. We also provided him with the information that the representatives said that nobody should question that a lightning strike hit our home due to the data they have recorded of lightning strikes that affected our home and the margin of error they disclose and the actual extensive damages we have. We called Jay Lewis after sending the information to him and explaining that we had to have all of our television, internet, and telephone cable services disconnected in order to feel relief from all of the malfunctioning appliances, home equipment, electronics, electrical wiring, coax cable wiring, and other things at our home. Jay Lewis promised to make the corrections on his report and send it to us within a couple of days so we could give his report to our homeowners insurance company. Over a week has passed by and Jay Lewis has not kept his promise and sent a corrected report to us with the truthful facts. Although he sounded knowledgeable and desirous to help us when we first contacted him, he has made light of all of the extensive damages and the cost of repairing them or replacing things. He also believes we should just ignore the obvious harm that has come to things that we still have to use that will quickly become worse, such as the damage to our screened in porch and deck and exterior doors and wood trim. Even though we have taken great pride in our home and have kept up with maintenance and used Thompson's water seal, etc., and know that our home was not in the condition it was in prior to the lightning strike having occurred which even harmed our grass which is now mutated, Jay Lewis has told us just not to worry about those things. Anyone would want as many of the damages to their home as possible to be repaired after having paid homeowners insurance premiums for many years and after our parents, siblings, other relatives, and friends also have. We do not appreciate Jay Lewis disregarding and making light of the very apparent damages that occurred to our home and belongings nor the inaccurate facts in his report.

Jay Lewis, the owner, has gone ABOVE AND BEYOND as far as helping me with my basement's structural and waterproofing issues. Originally, he wasn't even going to charge me when he saw what I was up against, but after talking to me, he decided he would go ahead and charge me but has been in my corner fighting for me with these waterproofing/structural repair businesses. He has given me direction on things he felt they were trying to sell me unnecessarily, questioned why they wanted to do one thing over another, which method of structural repair he felt was better over another, etc. He has been my middle man, adviser and "go to" guy during this entire nightmare. I HIGHLY recommend him if you are looking for someone for a home inspection. He has done way more than necessary. Words can't express my gratitude.

I arrived late to the inspection as I had work but when I arrived Jay was half way through the inspection and he stopped to explain everything that he had found so far. I was quickly informed that there were several major issues with the property and although I was stunned I appreciated that he was thorough enough to catch all of them and he was careful to show me where every issue was and explain what needed to be done to repair it. Jay also brought a termite inspector and a sewer inspector. I appreciated that he was able to bring them both within the time frame I had given him as I did not need to call each and create a schedule. Overall I had a very good experience. Jay stopped and answered all of my questions and made sure to explain everything that he was looking at. He also spoke to me from a inspectors point of view and not from a realtors which I appreciated. I would use Jay Lewis again!

I have used him twice. He was especially good at coordinating with other workers i.e. termite inspectors etc.

JAY LEWIS IMPRESSED US WITH THE THOROUGHNESS OF HIS INSPECTION AND HIS KNOWLEDGE OF MATERIALS AND BUILDING MECHANICS. HE SPOTTED NUMEROUS THINGS THAT WE WOULD NOT HAVE NOTICED ON OUR OWN. SOME OF THESE WERE IMPORTANT TO THE PURCHASE, OTHERS WERE JUST INTERESTING. FOR MANY OF THE PROBLEMS HE IDENTIFIED, HE EVALUATED FOR US THE PROS AND CONS OF EACH POSSIBLE FIX. MANY HOME INSPECTORS USE A FORM WITH CHECKBOXES TO SUBMIT THEIR EVALUATION, BUT JAY SUPPLIED US WITH A TEN-PAGE CUSTOMIZED DOCUMENT THAT WE STILL FIND USEFUL WHEN MAKING REPAIRS AROUND THE HOUSE. JAY'S WORK IS NOT CHEAP BUT WE FOUND IT VERY WORTHWHILE TO HIRE HIM.
