We had contracted with Vogel Heating and Cooling to install a new air conditioning unit in the "knee wall" area of our third floor and we needed a door for access to the space. As I did not have a carpenter in mind that i had used recently, I asked Vogel for a recommendation. They contacted Kal at Kalco and he set up an appointment for 8AM the next morning. He and another of his employees arrived on time and inspected the location. We agreed on the design (matching other doors on the third floor and agreed that they would be working for me rather than subcontracting for Vogel. Kal left to get the door, finish trim and hardware needed while the other carpenter (I'm sorry I can't remember his name) cut the new opening and roughed it in. It took them about two hours to cut the door to size, hang and adjust it and install the finish trim and hardware. They did all the circular saw cutting outside so no noticeable amount of dust was created inside. The new doorway was a perfect match with the existing doors and the area was left as clean as before they started.
Kal and his employee were very personable and always polite.We are very happy with the work and would certainly hire Kalco again when we need carpentry work done.

He's awesome! Kal is a stickler for details and so everything is completed perfectly. He has a great team working with him (both his employees and subcontractors) and they were always here when promised. The team is respectful of our property, professional, and trustworthy. His prices are higher than other contractors we've contacted but his work proves that you get what you pay for...We won't use any other contractor!

Kal helped us design each component of our renovation and he brought fresh and imaginative ideas to the table, adding valuable input to the final result. He advised on about what would be practical and what would be a waste of time and money. He was able to put our vision into reality, improving it as we went! He showed up when he said he would ( just about every day at 7:00 AM) but more importantly, his subcontractors showed up when promised as well. He kept us informed about any potential glitches (of which there were very few). His quality is unbelievable - he is a perfectionist to the point of making his subcontractors take apart their work and redo it if he's not happy with the quality. The subs have a tremendous amount of respect for him which is one of the reasons he has so much leverage with them.
