We could not have been happier with Jim at J&J Masonry. He and his entire team were professional, respectful, and diligent in their work. Our 120+ year old St. Louis home needed some fresh mortar in the upper 3 feet going down the entire length of the home on both sides. We are located in the city on a dense block, so our home has tiny alleys between the houses next to us. We received a prompt quote that was lower than any other competitor, but we felt secure moving forward due to the great reviews, their bonded & insured status, and recommendations of family and friends. We couldn't be happier that we went with Jim. They began work earlier than expected, and completed the first side of the house with no issue, using the smallest scaffolding possible. The other side was more complicated, with the house nextdoor leaning just enough to prevent their smallest scaffolding from being able to fit in the alley at a higher height. Without any change to the quote, their team quickly brought in another expert to devise a solution that would lower their workers on a system rigged between the two homes. They were able to accomplish this, satisfy the requirements of the homeowners nextdoor, and do an excellent job on our brick home. Throughout, Jim would maintain constant kind and professional communication, COVID-compliant at the door and over the phone. These folks are real professionals, and we will no doubt use them for ANY brickwork we need in the future.

We needed some fairly extensive repairs to extend the life of the steps. I was pleased that Jim listened when I explained that durability is more important to us than cosmetic appearance. And when I explained that we needed a more substantial patch job after the initial visit he sent out a crew the very next day. This second visit did not show up on our bill. So yes, we would definitely hire them again.

Jim has always impressed me with his work. I have used him personally many times. My clients as well. He properly preps, grinds out mortar, tuckpoints and cleans up. Highly recommend.

Jim and his crew were fantastic. The exterior work was done quickly and once they pulled their scaffolds and cleaned up you would never have known they were there. Chimney looks great and is much safer than before. They also replaced some mismatched bricks a prior owner had shoved into the fireplace. What we thought would be a simple job was made more complicated by the poor job done by the prior owner, but J&J was able to get the repair done quickly, and looking at it today you would never know there had been an issue. We are incredibly happy with the work they performed and would highly recommend them for any future work.

J & J Masonry tuckpointed our whole 2-story home, and we would definitely hire them again. We got several bids before the project, and not only was J & J one of the lower bids, but they were easily among the more professional companies that we talked to. They provided a written bid/contract (a couple other companies just texted or told me a price), and they got back to me quickly any time I had questions. After they ground the mortar out, Jim texted me a few color choices set in our brick so we could choose exactly the color we wanted. Everyone on the crew was super friendly and knowledgeable, and we were very happy with the end result.

J&J removed a vinyl window that was located in a bathroom shower with a nice glass block window. They did a great job with the install, i couldn't be happier.

The workmen did an outstanding job at a very reasonable price, and Jim Ulrich and Jim Moore were great to work with. They took time to discuss and explain the work, and were very professional. When there appeared an area of brick that was not in the initial quote, they readily gave a very reasonable price and got it handled.

Although J&J Masonry already has a ton of positive reviews, I feel the need to post one as well because they were THAT good. These are the guys you want to hire! They are honest, trustworthy and hard-working. They did exactly what the said they would do, exactly when they said they would do it; and they did quality work. They paid close attention to detail and took great care and pride in their work. They built 9 6ft brick pillars with caps for a fence project I was having done. They did a beautiful job and it was a pleasure to work with them. I highly recommend J&J Masonry. This is the company you are hoping to find by reading these reviews!

We moved into a home last year with an all brick chimney that was in desperate need of having its cap replaced. The owner gave me a breakdown of what was needed (and not needed) to permanently solve the problem. His crew was out a few weeks later, removed the old cap and replaced it in just a matter of a couple of hours. All were very friendly and courteous and the work is top notch. Would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat.

The entire process was very easy and Jim at J&J was very responsive. He told us they were four weeks out from getting to us and he was spot on with that estimate. He also estimated the work would take about three to four days, and they were finished in two. They left everything clean and the crew was very friendly - even when one our neighbors was crabby with them about the dust. (We notified her they would be working here but whatever?!) Their pricing was well below the other bids (for the same scope of work) that we received and the house looks great. They did the entire front of our house and as needed on the sides and back of the house. In fact, it looks so nice, all of the other neighbors were standing have been admiring it! All in all, a great experience and I've already recommended them to my aunt.

They did a fantastic job! I'm very pleased with the services I received from them. Our project to say the least was very challenging. Our building was built in 1914 and needed brick repair in countless areas and we also added on to the building and they made it blend together very nicely. I couldn't be happier! We were so pleased with the services we received we hired them to come back and install stone on the face of an outdoor bar we built. Turned out beautiful!
