HOME WORKS

I had checked Angie's list and called a company named Atlas for an estimate. Dean Daugherty returned my call and promptly came to give an estimate. The card he gave me as he left named his company as Home Works Foundation Repair. After reviewing several estimates, I decided I liked his proposal best, but I did not understand the company name discrepancy, so I called the company and asked, and learned that Home Works had purchased Atlas but was essentially the same company. I signed and returned the contract they sent on Nov. 6, and received a letter confirming. I emptied out the room and waited and heard nothing. Finally, as Christmas was approaching, I called to find out when I could expect them. They promised to get it done before Christmas, but Christmas came and went and I did not hear from them. On Dec. 29, the call came--my work would be done on Jan. 6. So I scrambled to get a carpet service to roll up the carpet, which was done on Jan. 5. On Jan. 6, a call came that the work could not be done that day because of the weather. The work was done on Jan. 7. The job was neatly done, quickly done, and entirely to my satisfaction. The workers were polite and easy to work with, and left the room clean. The only problem was my not knowing when to expect them, and not hearing from them about the delays that weather probably caused.
