Save yourself a great deal of grief! It took them 5 visits and the alarm system was not installed and the police were coming to my house for false alarms. Communications was very poor and the equipment was defective. Stay clear!

Overall, I am very pleased.  The one area that could be improved was the sales process - the salesman didn't seem to understand the ins/outs of the system and wasn't able to provide a totally accurate quote.  He was very prompt with follow-up however and the installer was able to adjust to what needed to happen.

Overall, I am very pleased with Hackett.  The only reason I gave them less than an A mark is that the salesperson originally assigned to our account was not satisfactory.  He appeared to be quite inexperienced, not very knowledgeable, not very responsive, etc, etc.  After I called his supervisor and left a message to this effect, he became much better.  
 My wife and I bought a house that had a new-ish looking Hackett control panel installed, along with some sensors throughout the house.  Hackett first sent our (not so great) salesperson to the house to do an evaluation, which he did.  Then they needed to come out again to set up/activate the system - this time with a technician who could speak intelligently with me about whether or not I wanted to add any sensors, how I wanted my zones set up, etc. The technician was very good, and I was happy with the work he did.  He added wireless, battery powered motion sensors, wireless window break sensors, and wireless door sensors.  He was also able to utilize most of the existing sensors we had in place, which saved us a lot of money.
Since the system has been set up and working, we have been very happy with Hackett.  They are always prompt to call us if there is an issue, and they were flexible with allowing us to pay off our initial, semi-large invoice in installment to ease the pressure on our budget.
I would definitely recommend this company to a friend.  The advice I would give to this friend is to not be discouraged by a bad salesperson, because their service is really great in the end.  If you don't like your salesperson, just call their supervisor.  They'll fix it.

I had an emergency and needed a home security system immediately. I called on a Sunday, reached the owner, and an estimator was at my home on Monday. They installed the system on Tuesday. They were very sensitive to my needs, polite, and professional. I highly recommend their services.
It is a bit expensive because you actually own the equipment they install, unlike other companies who remove the equipment if you terminate their services. But I like the flexibility to be able to choose whatever monitoring company I want, in case I am not happy with theirs. So far, they have been excellent.

They are very professional and their service has been as expected.  We have not had any issues with them at all.

Their sales consultant, Keith, was excellent. He was very effective and efficient. He also seemed extremely knowledgable. He picked a great updated system that was perfect for my situation. It fit my needs perfectly and the installation was outstanding. It was a great experience overall.

Hackett has monitored and serviced our alarm system for seven years, and does excellent work.  In the middle of the night on a weekend, our alarm system developed a problem -- it could not connect to the phone line, and started beeping with a "trouble code".  We couldn't sleep with the constant beeping.  I called Hackett and they arranged to have one of their service techs call me (this was around midnight on a weekend).  He walked me through the process to stop the beeping, and recommended that I have the phone company come out and diagnose and fix what he thought was a phone problem not an alarm problem.  We got the beeping stopped immediately, and the Hackett service person was right -- it was phone line problem that AT&T ended up fixing for us.

I am happy with the quality of service from them. They will come out to the house to do any upgrades on the system and I think the cost is very reasonable. They are just a very professional company.

WE HAD PURCHASED A HOUSE WITH AN INSTALLED ALARM SYSTEM, WHICH HAD BEEN INSTALLED AND MONITORED BY HACKETT SECURITY. AFTER PURCHASE OF THE HOUSE, WE HAD SBC REWIRE SOME OF THE PHONE LINES IN THE HOUSE. IN DOING THE WIRING, THE SBC SERVICE PERSON WAS NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE HOW TO CONNECT THE ALARM SYSTEM TO THE CORRECT PHONE LINE. HACKETT CAME OUT THE NEXT DAY AND WAS ABLE TO CONNECT THE SYSTEM WITH NO TROUBLE. WE CONTINUE TO USE HACKETT TO MONITOR THE ALARM SYSTEM. THEY DO A VERY GOOD JOB AND HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL IN ANSWERING OUR QUESTIONS.
