Furniture - Sales
My fiance and I were just kicked out of Good Works in the Loop for spending too much time on one of their couches while checking out new furniture. We were sitting on the couch for less than 5 minutes, being playful, giving each other small pecks and seeing how much we would enjoy lounging on this piece of furniture. I think it's not too much to ask to try out a $1,200 couch before making a purchase decision.
Instead of apologizing for their rude behavior the owners said "we're not for everyone." Apparently young professionals looking for furniture are not their optimal clientele. We have both purchased furniture from there in the past, but will no longer give them our patronage. If we are not the clientele they are looking for, they should consider moving to a less trendy neighborhood.
We want to support local businesses, but not ones that practice ageism.

SALESWOMAN HELPFUL BUT MADE A MISTAKE ON THE ORDER. THE CHAIRS WE ORDERED HAD A SIMILAR NAME TO ANOTHER STYLE AND THE WRONG ONE WAS WRITTEN ON TICKET. DIDN'T FIND THIS OUT UNTIL 7 WEEKS LATER WHEN CHAIR WAS ALREADY A BIT BEHIND SCHEDULED DELIVERY. EVENTUALLY GOT CLEARED UP. VERY IMPRESSED WITH MANAGER OF WAREHOUSE. HE SEEMS TO KNOW THE INS AND OUTS OF EACH PIECE OF FURNITURE AND GIVES YOU ADVICE ON ASSEMBLY WHEN YOU PICK UP YOUR FURNITURE.
