Horrible! Colleen is very rude and unprofessional. Her company removed my neighbors tree and they didn’t clean up my roof after as our homes at so close and the tree towered over my roof and they broke pavers in my yard. Colleen was rude from the start and lied about not breaking the pavers and tried to scolded me about my front gutter not being cleaned which had nothing to do with the problem her company caused. She was very mean and unprofessional. Don’t use this company. Trust me look around.

We love our trees, which means we love Droege. Colleen is hugely knowledgeable and we appreciate that she pays her crews a decent wage. Droege will probably not be a low bidder on a job, but they won't be the highest either. We consider them great value as they're professional and qualified. St. Louis can be really rough on trees, so if you value yours we highly recommend Droege.

Because the power drop (three old lines) to the house were under the tree, Droege arranged with Ameren UE to take down the lines in the morning of the work day.  This happened about an hour later than anticipated but not too late.  The Ameren lineman then prepared the replacement new triplex power drop which he would connect to the power lines running at the rear of the yard later in the day.
While the Droege crew waited for Ameren, they did the other trees in our yard and removed interfering limbs from our neighbor's oak tree also (with their OK of course).
Because of our  narrow driveway and a fence, they could not use a bucket to reach the high areas so the job was done with one man climbing the tree and using ropes to lower each cut limb to the ground where they were cut into smaller segments before being hauled to the chipper parked in the street in front of the house.  This was a very tall tree and the man in the tree was always in a safety harness and they took care in lowering the large limbs to not hit the roof, the porch deck or the fence.  Getting the tree to just a tall bare trunk took about 3-4 hours.  It wasn't something that could be done by just anyone without experience.  The cutting of the remaining trunk took about 30-45 minutes with the man using a larger chainsaw cutting and dropping one 2 foot slice at a time, working down the tree towards the base.  The stump was about 24 inches in diameter.  It couldn't be ground down because it was too close to our deck and not accessible by the equipment.  Droege sent two experienced men and two rookies.  All four were utilized.
Ameren was called by Droege when they finished and about an hour later the linesman returned and connected the new power drop to the pole and we had power back for the house.  We were without power for about six hours.
The job had originally been planned for a couple weeks prior but rain caused a postponement, and a new date had to be scheduled with Ameren before the job could be done.
We have used Droege for pruning our trees before, including the tall Honey Locust and have always been satisfied with their work.  The prices are not the lowest but I have confidence in the work being done correctly.

Droege is a very large company.  They are very timely when you need a quote, but they got to be so expensive!  One time they took down a tree, and to keep the price lower, we said we would remove the debris.  About 3 weeks later we still had not removed the debris, so I called, and asked them to do it.  What they charged to remove the debris was off the charts!  It was more than the original cost of taking down the tree!  It really made me angry, and I called to complain.  I just wanted them to take something off the price, even just a $100!  I just wanted to feel like I wasn't being taken advantage of, and they didn't budge.  I had a relationship with Droege, and through the years paid them thousands, and thousands of dollars!  Even though they do an overall excellent job, after that, I broke off the relationship.  They got to be so expensive, I will not be using Droege in the future.

Colleen Baum of Droege Tree Care spent a considerable time assessing and sharing with me the needs of all of the trees on our property.  Her suggestions focused on preserving the health of the trees.  Her ideas were thoughtful and knowledgeable.  The work itself went well.  The only mishap was some minimal, unintentional damage to a shrub and our fence.  Droege righted this concern quickly and satisfactoriiy.

They were very flexible and easy to work with. I was having an outdoor wedding around the time they were working on this job and they worked to complete it before the date.

Droege has done work for us before and the last time was about seven years ago. They sent a person out to survey the situation and write up the work to be done. Within a few days we got the estimate back and we accepted their bid. Within less than a week, they sent out a crew and completed the work. I inspected several of the cuts and they did very good work. All three trees were completed in one visit. Since this work was done in winter, when Spring came we noticed that some of the dead branches hadn't been pruned; Droge came back out and removed these limbs also as part of the original work.

The 3 arborists arrived on time, looking smart in their green company shirts. Friendly and courteous. No noisy music, no goofing off time. Close to the end, they showed me a crack in one of the patio stones and a gutter that was dented. I'm sure some companies would try to get by with it. They told me it was a company policy to report any damage immediately to the home owner. They paid for the repair of the gutter and replacement of the patio slab with no hesitation. I trust them for fine work, their expertise about trees and just for being good people.

They did a very good job. They have been around for a long time. The tree was taller than a house and we have a two story house. They also paid for the chimney repair and did not ask me to pay for the tree trimming until the chimney was fixed.

I was glad that they were able to come out the next day after I called them. The person that answered the phone was polite and when I told her the tree was in the driveway, she set everything up real fast. I really liked that they cleaned everything up too.

The injection was for a Dutch elm disease. They did a fantastic job with the work and I would recommend them to other people. They were accurate with the diagnosis of the tree and were reasonably priced as well. I was very satisfied.

THEY WERE VERY INFORMATIVE. THEY POINTED OUT A TREE THAT I THOUGHT WAS DEAD, BUT IT WAS NOT. THEY CUT A LOT OF DEAD WOOD OUT THE WAY THEY SHAPED IT AND IT JUST CAME BACK.
