Fine. The 2 men took care in spreading plastic sheeting to prevent splattering. I watched them during the entire process and was impressed. They cleaned up everything when they were finished.

Jason and Corey did a fantastic job. They were prompt, worked until the job was done and cleaned up after. I would definitely recommend them. I will give them a call for my next project.

Excellent from start to finish! Prompt response to quote request and bid. Wonderful patch work on three areas of plaster and one drywall area. Left work area very clean. If needed, we will use Dowell again!

The Dowell family arrived promptly and began extensive repair of plaster walls and ceilings. They were professional, flexible and did extra work without increasing the original bid. They were clean and finished earlier than expected. They repaired problem areas where drywall and plaster joined. They repaired large holes in garage. The quality of the work is exceptional and the price was the fairest, least inflated that we received. We had to wait 3 weeks for start day but it was well worth it. They noticed so much plaster damage that we did not see and restored the integrity of the walls of our childhood home in preparation for selling. Thank you for the beautiful work.

I called them on a Friday and left a voice mail that I wanted a quote on some plastering. Wayne Dowell called back the Monday and we set up an appointment for the inspection the following morning. Wayne and his son Jason showed up exactly on time reviewed the work to be done and wrote me a quote on the spot including the fact that it would take two to three days. I had received another quote that was slightly higher from another company, but they could not start work for 8-10 weeks. One other company inspected the work, but didn't bother to give me a quote even after I called several days later to ask for it. I called Wayne and scheduled the work for two weeks later. Wayne and Jason showed up at the agreed to time, laid out all the protective covers for the furniture and carpet, and began work. Wayne is semi-retired and let Jason do most of the prep work. They worked steadily all day except for a short lunch break and finished the bedroom and office. Kory, another of Wayne's sons, showed up after practice for the Ambush and started right in on the work. The next day Jason showed up alone and I assumed there was no way the job would be finished on the second day, but Kory again came in a little later and they both worked impressively. Jason is also a painter and I asked him  a ton of questions on the plastering and painting the walls and ceiling. He answered all my questions and offered suggestions on my painting. They stayed a little later than the first day to finish the job, cleaned up all the drop cloths, plastic and vacuumed the dust. The plastering was excellent and matched the existing texture perfectly and I would use them again in a minute if needed.

They were great!! Thorough and clean and I would highly recommend them and use them in future. They also extended and additional discount for doing the job Christmas week (a slow time for them I assume).....

In one of our bedrooms we had wood paneling covering the plaster walls, and the paneling was separating from the walls, bowing, and the plaster behind the paneling was crumbling (we could hear the little pieces fall every time the paneling was bumped). To get a sense of the extent of the situation, we removed the trim and wood paneling from the walls to discover that the plaster was cracked, flaking, and coming off the wall (in large sections).
I found Dowell on Angie's List, and someone came out and took a look. The guy confirmed our suspicions that the plaster was too far gone and needed to be replaced. They gave us two quotes, one for replacing with drywall and one for replacing with new plaster. The quote for drywall was less expensive, and the job would take less time. We were on a short time table, and liked the less expensive option anyway, so opted for drywall.
Setting up an appointment was easy, Dowell was very responsive when I contacted them. We scheduled an appointment and they were prompt on arrival.
On the first day a crew of 3 or 4 guys came out. They removed the old plaster, and put up the drywalls. It was an amazing transformation in just one day! On the second day one guy came over and did the finishing touches on the drywall. After he was done I gave him a check to pay for the job and that was that.
Then, we only had to do some light sanding and then used a tack cloth to prep the walls to paint. We painted the walls and they look great. No more sad looking plaster walls.

They were great! I would not hesitate to hire them again for another job.

They did a great job for us - we were preparing to sell our home and needed these repairs done promptly and professionally.  Wayne and his boys know exactly what they are doing and they were awesome to have in our home.  They were very meticulous and cleaned up everything before leaving.  Certainly would recommend them without question.

Wonderful!  We were very pleased with the punctuality, professionalism, and overall quality of the work done.  They also quoted us the best price of 4 different bids... the highest bid we had received from another company was over $3k for the same work!  The workers were very concerned with giving a high quality product and put a lot of thought into how the work would be done before even giving us the price for the bid.  Then, when we hired them and they came to start the work, they were concerned with making sure we had proper insulation in some of the places where pipes had frozen.  They wanted to make sure that they were also helping give input into preventing our frozen pipes in the future, rather than just patching up the holes, and they made some great observations for us to take into consideration.  I will definitely call Dowell Plastering again in the future for any future needs!

The guys were very good about their work. They came in a gave a very fair estimate and then started work right away when I accepted their bid. They put plastic wrap everywhere that might get dusty or dirty and then proceeded to take out the old plaster. After cleaning all the mess up they then put the new plaster up on the ceiling and finshed their cleanup. They were very prompt and very professional.

We are extremely pleased with the work from the Dowell's.  They are very professional, the prices are fair, they show up when they say,  they clean up after themselves, their work is meticulous.   We live in a 1920's home and will definitely be using them to renew and repair our first floor plaster ceilings and walls in the next year or so.

 I had water damage that required drywall to be removed by a restoration company so the walls could dry.
I called Dowell to get an estimate for the drywall repair and they were here the next day. Work started the next week. I was told at the beginning approximately how long the job would take and what hours they planned on being in my home. In addition to regular drywall work, I had an archway that needed new drywall and I was very concerned about getting someone that knew what they were doing. They did a fantastic job. You can't tell where the old and new drywall start and stop. They also patched several areas. I've had other people patch holes for me, but you could always tell where the patch was. With Dowell, I can't tell where the patches are. I would definitely use Dowell again and highly recommend them to anyone needing drywall work. They know what they are doing!
