Job went well, although our first intention wast the just replace the decking and railing, once they started demolition it became clear to me that there was considerable rot and I just had them replace the whole thing. I had one previous estimate to remove and replace the whole thing and it was nearly 17,000. Bob was responsive, crew was skilled, workmanship was average.

We had them remove the old decks rather than repair the existing ones as they suggested, to ensure there would be no unforeseen problems. Not only did they leave us with 2 decks which are visually appalling, the building inspector failed the decks on numerous counts. One problem was that no one person was running the job. We had a constant rotation of personnel who turned out to be laborers rather than real carpenters. When we saw obvious problems during the construction (crooked stairs, unsupported areas) we got promises but few corrections. Dozens of phone calls yielded only empty promises and a constantly changing string of excuses from their representative Bob Faila. Calls to Kelly Jones, the owner of the parent company, were never even returned. That should speak volumes! We ended up having to hire a lawyer and sue them but were only able to collect part of the cost. As it stands, no other builder wants to touch the mess they left. We are now facing another complete tear-down.

Bob was prompt, professional, and pleasant. I enjoyed having him in my home and dealing with him. His price was more than we wanted to pay though, so we went with another company.
