It went well, their main carpenter was Sam and he was fantastic.  We had a few hiccups with the project manager who missed ordering some materials needed to finish the stairs.  This cause our stairs to be out of commission for a few weeks which delayed other parts of the project.  The owner (at the time), Kevin Franklin personnaly quoted  and then supervised the issues that did crop up and replaced the project manager and the rest of the work went smoothly.
One point on price, this was the only work we had done by Consolidated.  We did request a quote for a leaking palladium window on the front of the house but Josh the estimator quoted almost $4,000 to repair including replacing the window.  This is after we had them come to do some remedial work to fix the leak initially at our cost.  We ultimately reached out to the manufacturer of the window and their tech came out and said only a piece of the seal had failed on the window and just caulked it and it has not leaked since.  I was a bit disappointed in the "throw it out" approach by Josh.  My dealings with Kevin seemed more pragmatic and we did not demo what did not need demo...but this was not the case with Josh.

The job was excellent from beginning to end.  The workers were punctual, professional, cleaned up every day, and created a beautiful end project.  It took 13 days, but not all those were full days.  A couple of days all that was done was drywall compound which only took an hour or so and since each coat had to dry completely, it took that much time.  One full day was spent cutting out the wall portion and relocating a couple of electric switches, resulting in another part of the wall needing to be demolished.  Also, part of the ceiling was removed.  There was an existing door and frame removed as well.  Then, reconstruction began, first with replacing drywall and adding compound.  Then, the bannister, spindles, and handrails were built and added.  A piece of carpet needed to be repositioned which was sub-contracted.  Then, painting was done last to complete the work.  Painting was sub-contracted.

From the bid through the actual construction phases of all our our projects, Consolidated Construction was excellent with communication, keeping the worksite spotless, and keeping on time and on budget.  While we initially thought the bid for the 1993 construction was a bit high, Consolidated came so well recommended that we used them.  They are worth the bidded price.  We would recommend them again and use them again.

Dave, Josh, John and Sam have been great through our Kitchen Remodel.  The level of professionalism is unmatched.  We had several dust events and they took extreme precautions to keep the dust down in the rest of the house.  They are easy to work with and have been more than patient with our approach and fears of remodeling/contractors.  The work has been wonderful and I would use them again in a heartbeat.
