THEY OFFERED SEVERAL RECOMMENDATIONS TO PRICE COMPARE AGAINST. THEY DIDN'T HESITATE TO STEER ME AWAY FROM A FEW THINGS THEY DIDN'T FEEL WERE A GOOD BUY EVEN THOUGH IT COULD HAVE MEANT A HIGH SALE. THEY EXPLAINED THINGS IN SIMPLE TERMS, AND IT SEEMS LIKE THEY FILTERED THEIR TECH SPEAK BASED ON EACH CUSTOMER, AND HIS/HER LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE. THEY WERE PATIENT IN LETTING ME HAVE MY TIME TO COMPARE, AND ASK QUESTIONS, AND LEARN WHAT I NEED TO LEARN TO MAKE AN INFORMED PURCHASE.

THE TECH'S ARE OVERWORKED AND UNDER EDUCATED. THE EXPERIENCE OVERALL HAS BEEN THE SINGLE WORST I HAVE EVER HAD IN A RETAIL INVOLVEMENT.
Description of Work: WHILE BUYING A LAPTOP FROM COMP USA IN DECEMBER OF 2002, I WAS PERSUADED TO PURCHASE THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PLAN THAT LASTED FOR THREE YEARS. THE TURN AROUND ON ANY WORK PERFORMED WAS 48 HOURS OR THEY WOULD REPLACE THE PRODUCT WITH ONE OF EQUAL VALUE AND PERFORMANCE. THE PROCESS IS NOW GOING ON THREE WEEKS TO REPAIR THE SCREEN ON MY COMPUTER AND THERE STILL HAS NOT BEEN A RESOLUTION. THEY ''ARE WAITING ON PARTS'', EVEN THOUGH THE TECH HAS TOLD ME THAT HE CAN HAVE THE PART IN HAND WITHIN 24 HOURS IF THEY WOULD LET HIM ORDER IT FROM ANOTHER VENDOR. THE PROBLEM IS THE $20 PART IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY IF NOT ORDERED THROUGH A CERTAIN VENDOR, SO THE MANAGER, JOHN RIVERA, WOULD NOT GIVE THE GO AHEAD TO ORDER.
