Have used Clayton Plastering on two occasions.  Office staff are responsive at first call in setting up a bid appointment.  Bidder closely reviews scope of work and provides written estimate,  Work scheduled in a timely fashion.  Two workers arrive on appointed day.  Extensively tape off and prep.  Remain consistently at work until job completed.  Through clean-up.  Quality of work is very good.

This was a warranty service repair from work that had been done a few years earlier, under a previous owner.  The new owner inspected the work that had been done, recognized that it was not done correctly the first time, and fixed the issue.  Super-professional, very easy to work with, took ownership of past mistakes, and worked diligently to correct them.  Chimney is now fixed, all inside leaking issues are gone, and I'm a very happy customer with this company.  Would definitely use them again.  (They've also done plaster work inside and I'm pleased with that, too).

Jesse met with us to review the cracked and damaged plaster repair and then discussed our basement wall skim options.  Jesse answered our wall skim questions and helped us understand how the job would be performed and what the result would look like.  We scheduled the work and Jesse and his team arrived on time to start the work.  The taped off both areas for the plaster repair and wall skim to reduce dust leakage.  The wall skim really improves the visual appearance our our basement and we are quite pleased with it. This is the second time we have used Clayton Plastering for plaster wall repair and we have been pleased with their work both times.

Adam climbed up on the roof / looked inside the chimney and because he was thorough - was able to determine the right course of action - saving me $600-$1000.  Unlike all the others (and I had about 8 companies look) he FOUND the problem and fixed it -
He is responsive and showed up on time.  Like a small business - you might have to make ONE extra telephone call - but Tina and his crew are great.
Do yourself a favor - get bids but be sure that Clayton does the work.

He was cheaper than the person my contractor had recommended, found more things to fix, and you can't tell where he started and stopped because he matched the mortar so well.

"Thank you very much for the favorable review. It means a lot to us that you took the time to write this. We appreciate it especially since you wrote it months after the work had been completed. We are very fortunate that you decided to use us since your contractor had recommended some one else. I am so happy our man did a good job for you. Thank you again. The house did not have overhead lighting due to electrical work being done, though it did have pretty good natural light through windows and french doors. We felt it would have been easier for them if they had brought in work lights, which they could have plugged into a few existing electrical outlets, though they would have had to run extension cords to the dining room, kitchen, and upper stairwell areas. We marked all the little bumps, indentations, and imperfections, however, and to their credit, they repaired everything to our satisfaction. They did an excellent job plastering the beveled edges of three large arched doorways, as well as the beveled edges on recessed bookshelves in our family room. The also maintained the integrity of the original plant molding on the walls, blending the plaster right up to it.
They got another plastering job during the middle of our project, and were gone for 5 weeks completing that project. Since there was so much other work going on, it didn't become a much of a problem until the last 1-1/2 weeks they were gone. However, considering how competitive their price had been, we tried to be patient.

Called for an estimate and Dennis came out that day. Out of 4 other bids, they came in the lowest but also came highly recommended. Work started a few days after we accepted the bid. Overall, they were affordable, prompt, and the end result looks great... There were a few snags along the way but nothing that we couldn't work out.
The first snag is that they don't accept credit cards. This might be an issue if you are like us and use a card for home improvements to get the rewards points.
There was also a little confusion as to the extent of the demolition of existing stucco vs just patchwork. We were under the impression that stucco on the small panels below the windows would be completely removed since the existing stucco was in the worst condition in that location. Also we were concerned that the old flaky paint would not allow for a proper binding of the skim coat. But Dennis assured us that the patchwork and skim coat would be sufficient and that the loose paint would be removed, and ultimately we trusted his judgement and experience.
Once the finished stucco had cured, we had gone up to prime and paint only to discovered an area about 4'X4' that had cracked already and noticed that it had not adhered to the old stucco underneath as we had initially feared. So we called and Dennis came right back out a few days later to redo that portion. To be fair, they had been working in extreme heat, and that may have cause the moister to evaporate too quickly causing it to crack.
As I stated before, we are happy with the end product and would hire them again for the rest of the future stucco work that needs to be done on the back and sides. Still have a minor worry how it will stand the test of time with whats underneath, but that probably just stems from the anxiety of rehabbing an old house

The work was fast, efficient, and done  well.  The price was also very reasonable compared to other companies we called.  He gave us one price for all the work, and didn't add on when we asked him to plaster some additional holes and the more extensive work needed to patch the mirrored wall.  He was nice and laid back.  We would use him again.

They were prompt in coming for the estimate and then in setting an appointment for the work. The team arrived on time and finished in one day. They were careful about laying down cloths throughout the house and cleaned up afterwards. The work looks very good, better than I had hoped for, and ready for painting. Their price was lower than two other companies' estimates. I was very pleased with the experience.

We spent $350 on their services.  We didn’t really dislike anything about them.  They were fine and they did a good job.  They were in and out pretty quick.  They were very reasonable.  The reason that we went with them was because they were a lot cheaper than the other bids that we got.  They did a good job and they cleaned up and everything.  They did a good job inexpensively and so that’s good.  They came quickly.  We will use their services again in the future if we need to.

I thought that the work they did was of very high quality.  I was very pleased with the results of the work they did.  Their work is holding up well so far.  Their price was significantly lower than what I anticipated.  The workers were fine.  They did a good job.  They didn’t leave a mess.  I was pleased about that.  I had no complaints.  They were pretty prompt in getting out here for a quote.  They were certainly prompt in showing up for the work.  I would use Clayton Plastering & Tuckpointing Company again in the future.

plastering job was ok - backerboard install was subpar and had to be redone - workers had little or no respect for home - failed to put down drop cloths and tracked mud across carpet - did a poor job of cleaning up when finished

I had a water leak that damaged the ceiling and wall plaster in my 1930s brick home. After sealing the leak, I contacted Clayton Plastering and Tuckpointing for an estimate to repair the plaster. Shortly afterward I scheduled the repair. On the day of the work, the workers tore down the damaged plaster and then informed me that I had ceiling joists that needed to be replaced or repaired before the plaster work could be completed. Apparently, the leak had been occurring for some time and had rotted the wood over the years resulting in some sagging. After I had the joists repaired the next day, I contacted them again to schedule the completion of the work. It took almost one full day to complete the plaster work. The result looks great.

He showed up when he said he would, fixed more than we had agreed to for the price (which as $300 LESS than another contractor's bid), cleaned up after himself, and left the ceiling looking as though nothing had ever happened. GREAT experience. I wish more contractors were like this.

Dennis came and gave us a same day estimate and returned to do the work a week later. We have a brick bungalow built in the 1930's. We had removed the wall tile on the exterior walls, in places down to the brick and the wall tiles on one interior, which we then leveled the studs and sheet rocked. We also completely stripped the other interior wall to the studs and sheet rocked. We also sheet rocked the ceiling where the built-in pantry was. They were to skim coat and level out the plaster where we sheet rocked. They ended up skim coating all of the walls and the ceiling where the cabinets and pantry had been. They were very quick and the end result looks great.
