Their prices are fair and deserved, and they have always completed work promptly while exceeding our expectations. We were impressed by their recent effort to remove a very large tree next to our house which had become a safety issue. Most important, their experience gave us piece-of-mind that the removal of the tree could be done with confidence that no harm would be done to life or property. We will certainly reach out to them again should the need arise for any additional tree or landscaping needs. They provide excellent service.

I contacted this company to help my elderly neighbor with her tree issues. They replied in the same day, came out right away to give us an estimate, and provided the estimate before leaving. They were polite and professional. They completed the agreed upon work as promised and within the time frame quoted. After finishing, they cleaned up and made sure the grounds were in good order. Came back to grind the removed tree's stump. I would highly recommend them for the excellent service they provided for my neighbor. I am planning to have them take care of my mother-in-law's trees as well. Chris, the owner, personally responded to the job site to ensure everything was done to our satisfaction. I like the fact that he takes great pride in his company and delivers what he promises. Excellent experience.

They were awesome. They quoted me a competitive price and took care of the job quickly. I would highly recommend them!

We had a tree that needed a lot of dead wood removed. They were in the neighborhood working and stopped by to ask about whether I needed any trimming done. I showed them the try and commented that it might be hard to see what parts are dead before the tree's leaves are out, but we noticed that the buds were coming on, so we decided it might be clear enough to do the work. We settled on a price of $400 and they said they could do on the spot. However, it turned out that they did not have the equipment to reach all the dead branches high enough and so they did not remove everything I requested. I believe that $400 would have been a good price if they had actually done the full job, but this was poor. After I complained, they did a little more work but never got it the way I liked and they didn't care, commenting on how tired they were. They also asked for the check to be made out to them personally, despite driving up in the company truck and giving me the Chris Amschler card. The business card shows Angie's List as A+ but currently their average is a B. I should not have hired on the spot like this and I regret it. I do hope that I can get them to come back with proper equipment and finish the job, but I am not optimistic. I have done on-the-spot hires with good success in the past, but this was not a good outcome.

Awesome job! A few minor issues but Chris returned at our scheduled time and fixed my minor issues along with putting down some grass seed where his cranes had taken the grass (which was expected). Chris is very knowlegable, professional and very personable. Highly recommend!

I would like to recommend Chris Amschler Tree Service & Landscaping, LLC. I hired Amschler to remove a river birch that was probably at least 10-12 years old and growing into power lines. The tree was never properly trimmed and pruned when it was younger before I bought my house a few years ago. I hated to cut down the tree but it would have required major yearly trimming and would have still remained a threat to the power lines, and it would have looked horrid. I also had them add garden soil and mulch to flower beds on all four sides of my rather large back yard, and they planted eight medium new plants/shrubs for me (I have cervical spine issues and digging can be a problem for me). Every one of the crew who worked in my yard seemed to really love what they were doing. The two men who cut down the tree were amazing at how they maneuvered the limbs to avoid damage to power lines and my yard. Chris returned phone calls and stayed on top of things with me and my job over the several weeks before work was done, since I had to go to a nursery to buy plants for him to pick up. The job was done over three partial days (because of tree stump removal/grinding) and I could not be more pleased with the results and cleanup. Chris' crews for the tree removal and landscaping did a great job, were a pleasure to talk to, and cleaned up my yard, driveway and patio - it was like they were never there doing messy work. And I thought the cost quoted by Chris for my job was very reasonable - I am big on customer service and would rather pay a bit more so that I can get that and have a good relationship with the persons and companies doing work that I can't do. I will be having Chris Amschler back for all my landscaping and major tree trimming in the future.

I had three 50 foot oak trees trimmed and cleaned up. One of the trees hangs over my house. The guys did a very good job in trimming the oak trees. They also removed debris off of the roof of my house and my neighbors. I also had them trim a 20 foot amur maple tree and trimmed back a hedge of burning bushes with an electric trimmer. The team was suppose to trim back hornbeam branches that were sticking out of my DeGroot Spire Arborvitae hedge. This is where the miscommunication occurred. Instead the guys trimmed back one of the hornbeams from the house which I don't even see from my backyard. Instead I was very specific with Chris the owner on trimming back the branches sticking through my Arborvitae hedge. Chris did meet with me again. He said this would be best done in the fall. Technically, all tree trimming should be done in the fall due to browning. Surprisingly, they didn't have any problem trimming one of the hornbeam trees so it wasn't touching the house. But I told him at the time of sale, I was willing to take this risk. In the end, he did not come through with my requests and did not document correctly on what I was wanting. He did put hornbeams down but not enough detail. I am very disappointed with the sales tactics used to sell this job. He wanted me to get a bid from anothe provider in the fall for the hornbeams and then he would price considerably lower from his competitor. Due to his sales tactics, I will not be using his service again. He will tell you he is "A+" on Angies List. And he wasn't after I checked. But I went with him anyway because I had to get my trees trimmed.

Chris Amschler's Team had the work completed within 24 hours. The area is clean and tidy. The tree looks much healthier.

Chris called and said he would be 30 minutes early to bid the work which was a problem since I had scheduled my day based on the later time. It worked with a re-schedule of my other activities. He and his crew arrived on time for the work. They walked the project. Chris knocked and asked if I wanted him to 'dead wood' the elm and hackberry while he was here. I wasn't interested. He persisted and talked about how dead wood would take nutrients from the tree. He seemed angry when I said that dead wood didn't circulate the nutrients-it was dead. He asked to bid. I ok'd it and thought-for $200-300, I will do it. He came back with a bid of $1,800. I declined. The workers cut/trimmed and cleaned really well. Chris wasn't present. I noticed one large limb had not been cut from one of the maples included in the project and asked the main tree cutter to cut it, he said to call Chris because that hadn't been included in the walk through. By this time they were packed up and ready to leave. I called Chris, he said to have them cut it. I asked him to call his guys. He said-just tell them to do it. I was annoyed at the attitude but did it because I wanted it finished. They had great equipment, the workers were good, the project complete and the area clean BUT it wasn't worth dealing with Chris. Ray's Trees has better prices and a lot less attitude to deal with. Our project took 4 hours and cost $3,750. I didn't fill out the review for 6 months because I hate giving negative reviews but call Ray's.

Trimmed trees look fantastic. Large oak removed with no damage to any foliage or the back yard.

I called Chris after I had called another company that I've seen in the area. That company couldn't help us for 6 weeks although they quoted a low price. Chris quoted a fairly much higher price but could come out the next day and did a fine job.

The whole crew of 5 was friendly and worked quickly, efficiently and safely.

It was on time and on budget and very little mess. I'd use them again.

I contacted Chris Amschler Tree Service from a flyer advertisement left on my door. We agreed to meet to discuss possible services. Upon arrival to our appointment, Chris's entire crew was waiting in their trucks, ready to start the project. (This should have been the first warning). We spent 40-minutes reviewing the work in the yard at which point a verbal quote was provided - no paperwork was provided to describe services (This should have been second warning). The quote given was very high - I inquired on how long the project would take, they answered 1 1/2 days - i.e. 12 hours. I said that I would need to think about it and would get back to them if I was interested. This prompted the sales person to say that they could do the work in one day for 1/2 the originally quoted cost... he emphasized that they were ready to start (obviously because the guys where sitting in the truck outside my house). After some thought, I agreed to start the work but said that I wanted a full day of work. They where done and gone in 2-hours. While most of the work was done, and done well, there were some things that were discussed that were not taken care of. The next day they called promptly for payment at which point I said that I felt taken advantage of based on fact that I was left with the impression that the project would take a full day. We argued over the price, at which point, Chris decided to take matters up with other people in my home that were not involved in the original sale. In the end, I paid the full amount to keep the piece but am left with an extremely sour taste - feel prayed upon. Shame on me for falling for this - I should have known better.

I reached out to Chris and left a message in the morning of
3/13. Promptly received a call back within an hour, we set up a time for later
that day for him and his team to come out and look at the job. I spent an hour with the team and walked
through what I was envisioning. They gave me feedback on other things that
could / should be done. This is the second company I had come out to bid the
job, they were not the low cost provider, but over the conversation I had with
them , the ideas they gave me, the price they provide was very fair/competitive. I awarded them the job, we agreed on a date 1
week out (3/20). The team showed up; I was not present for the first few hours, but to my surprise everything that we
listed on the bid was close to completed. They required no oversight and did exactly
what they said they would (plus a little). I would highly recommend this company.

They gave a good bid, showed up the next day and completed job thoroughly. They did a great job and would have them back to do more work!

They came out within an hour, droid the work and cleaned up afterwards.

They can do most everything with very good prices and quality workmenship. They do what they say and more. They leave with your entire yard looking great, trimming and cleanup above and beyond what other companies offer. Definitely a step above other tree companies I have used. They also do many other lawn services. A complete service which could not be better

The guys have been here several times in the last 2 years, and have performed a variety of services, including tree removal and tree management, planting, mulching, and repairs a stone wall in the yard. They always go beyond the scope of the job, cleaning paths, and the roof, trimming edges and bushes as needed, and always show up on time. They are genuinely nice people to work with and I recommend them to anyone who wants their yard to be taken care of by professionals.

Cut down a gigantic maple that was dying. Tree was dangerously close to house but they did a phenom job. Did tones of tree trimming, very artistic. Did some extra work gratis. Super nice team!

This was not a good experience. They never completed the work properly. They were supposed to come back and grind the stumps for me and they never did. They wouldn't return my calls when I tried to follow up with them and I have called at least three times.
