Chesterfield Cab Service

I called 25 minutes before needing the first ride. The dispatcher said she'd have a car sent at the time I requested. 10 minutes after the car was due to arrive, I received a text message saying the car had been dispatched. The car arrived 25 minutes after the time I needed it. I completely missed my first appointment and just had the driver take me directly to the second. The driver was very polite and understanding. At least I was on time for the second appointment.

After posting a review previously, I was contacted by the owner of the car service. He said that my three earlier e-mails had been mishandled by the company's new web interface. We confirmed the monetary expenses that were incurred as a result of their service, and they sent us a check to reimburse us for them.

We booked Chesterfield Car Service well in advance of our trip. We had an early morning departure to make and international connection in Miami. When our pick-up time came and went, we called the dispatcher who said she would look into the driver’s location. The driver called some minutes later claiming that he was sitting in front of our house. When we told him that he was not, in fact, in front of our house he just kept repeating the street address. He was unable to determine where he was or to communicate that information verbally. After he hung up, we called the dispatcher again, who said she was directing the driver to our place (we live on a fairly well known street in University City). The driver eventually arrived nearly half an hour late.  We missed our initial flight and had to pay more than $325 to rebook just one ticket. Our revised itinerary meant we landed too late to get ground transportation to our final destination. So we spent more than another $125 for a hotel room. We had to pay a $50 penalty for making our grand transport wait 24 hours to pick us up. Finally, we lost a day of our vacation in transit when we should have been relaxing. I e-mailed the car service through their website multiple times about making amends, and they simply ignored me. I noted that if they did not respond, I would post a review of the service we received. You just read that review. If you have about $500 to spend on a car ride to the airport, this is the company for you.

We have used Chesterfield Cab many times over the years and been satisfied. However, our most recent experiences have been very disappointing in terms of customer service. The drivers are punctual, but dealing with rude reservation staff that become unprofessional when a simple clarifying question is asked will be leading me to finding an alternate option in the future.

All in all I was very pleased and would use this cab service again.  I had made an appointment for the car to be repaired and had assumed I could wait for it.  I found out at the last minute they weren't able to get it done while I waited so I needed to arrange for a ride home.  Nothing else panned out so I checked on Angies List for a list of taxi cabs.  I didn't know who to choose so I just chose what looked like the closest one with excellent ratings.  They told me exactly what it would cost--the rate was $2 per car then $2 per mile.  I was only going 5 miles but that wasn't a problem.  They told me they could pick me up in a half hour and were there 15 minutes ahead of that time and waited without a problem.   The cab driver was very friendly but not in a way that was uncomfortable.  I would do this again and recommend Chesterfield Cab Service to anyone who needs a ride.

The day after the big snow storm (my driveway cleaning person didn't come), I needed to go to an appointment with a new Dr and since I had waited a long time for it I wanted to go.  I called one cab company and they couldn't come in time so I called Chesterfield. They came and picked me up both at home and at the Dr's office and were on time almost to the minute or a bit early. The cab was clean and did not smell of cigarettes etc, the driver was neatly and cleanly dressed and polite. I didn't have far to go (2 miles) and the bill, not counting tip was about $7.00 each way. I felt that was a bit high but it is about what they all charge. I left a larger tip as all had been so professionally handled.

I scheduled an appointment for service to the airport.  They did NOT SHOW UP!!  I contacted the company, and they sent another driver.  Unfortunately, we were late for our international flight.  After running through the airport and begging TSA and other airport officials, we made our flight.  We had our children with us, and the entire situation was beyond stressful~~
They waived their fee, so we didn't pay for the trauma, but the driver spent time on the phone with the scheduler trying to figure out how he was going to be paid!
I will not use this company again!

The drivers have always arrived early, and have been courteous and pleasant. I have had them pick me up as late as 1 AM after a delayed flight and as early as 5:00 AM for trips to the airport and they have never failed. The only negative is that lately every time I have called I  have been put on hold, sometimes for an extended period.

No show, we had contracted with them to pick us up at the airport at 10:30 pm two weeks in advance.  This was in writing and we had a written acknowledgement.  When we arrived at the airport and they did not, we called only to be told they were too busy

Service was excellent!

Drivers are prompt and helpful. Have used for years and generally satisfied. Recently it has been hard to get through on phone, need to hire more dispatchers.

Great individual, very prompt handled the bag both to and from the Gave him a bigger tip that suggested on line best of the terrific service.

This was my second time using this company.  The first time didn't go well (late picking me up with no call to let me know, took a wrong turn but still charged me for the extra distance, etc.).  Because of their rating on Angie's List, I gave them another chance, thinking maybe it was just one bad driver.  Nope!  This time, they called  (about twenty minutes before my pickup time) and said they were running about 15 minutes late "because someone had ordered eight cars" and they were too busy.  I'm quite sure I had called BEFORE the eight car order, so should not have been delayed for that.  The car ended up being about half an hour late.  Too late to get me where I'd wanted to go, so I had to change my plans.  Thank goodness I wasn't going to the airport to catch a flight!!  This company is clearly unreliable and can not be expected to be on time. 



I will say that their cars are nicer than most taxi's, but that's about the only good thing I can say.



Also, since Chesterfield Taxi, Chesterfield Cab and Royal are all the same people .... they should not be shown and rated as different companies.  It's misleading.



Bottom line is that I will not be using them again and suggest that you don't either.

Great. On time (early even!)

Driver arrived early, was very courteous, drove responsibly and we arrived with plenty of time to make the flight.

My partner and I needed a ride to the airport early on a Saturday morning. We didn't want to ask one of our friends to get up at 5AM on a Saturday to drive us. We considered calling a cab but were worried the cab either wouldn't show at all or wouldn't show on time. I called one of my friends who travels a lot on business to ask her if she thought a cab would actually show up. She said she'd had bad luck with cabs but she did recommend the Chesterfield Taxi and Car Service. So, I called to check their rates and they were reasonable. I now can't remember how much we paid for a 6 mile ride to the airport. I think it was 22 dollars without the tip. Anyway I scheduled our pickup time online ( their website home page has a banner that says "Royal Car Service LLC" - not sure why). The day before we left I called to confirm our pickup time and they had it all lined up. The morning of our departure a vehicle and driver showed up at the scheduled time. The driver was polite and helpful. The vehicle was clean and comfortable. I was completely satisfied with this service. If I ever need a ride anywhere and have to be on time I would trust this service.

They are excellent. They are always ahead of time. They are always at the airport when they are supposed to be. We get in sometimes at midnight so we are happy to see them. They are very aware of where the traffic is and will take us around. We are very pleased. We have used them for many years now. Almost everybody in our neighborhood uses them. It is not a limousine service. It is a large comfortable car. They fix the price based upon your location. We can trust them to come on time. They come fifteen minutes early and gather the bags. They are just so dependable.

Great - better than expected.

I can call them ahead of time and they come early. They even wait and pick me up from the airports. They are courteous and professional. The cars are very clean.
