I initially contacted them for a small leak in our slate roof. They told me that the flashing needed repair and the work got done on time.
They suggested that we might need some tuck pointing work done. The price was good, so I had them do this as well. Hard for me to know what is good and what is not, but the work got done. Didn't match what was there, but looked ok.
Then we asked for custom gutter guards to prevent leaves from collecting in the gutters. This again, was no problem, and the work got done quickly.
and the problems started. The first winter, when snow was on our room, caused the gutter guards to start falling down. I called Central to complain about this. No one responded to multiple calls.
Then the leak recurred in our room. This time, I called Vince Graye to look at it. He came down and said what the h*** was going on in the flashing around the chimney? that this was one of the worst and most unprofessional installations that he had seen.
Never again. I can't complain enough about them.
My insurance company initially offered about half of what my three bids came in at and the foreman was dogged in getting the insurance company to slowly and reluctantly raise there settlement to cover my contractual agreement with them. However, the excess costs of labor and slate, while verbally agreed upon between the insurance adjuster and roofing supervisor, are yet unresolved.
The craftsmanship was excellent, the foreman was honest, tenacious and accessible; but the front office invoices and E-mails were confused, inaccurate and frequently contradictory and this has lead to the lack of resolution.
Joe and his crew were great.
Able to alter tactics when complications arose.
Helped find economical techniques to complete the work.
