Their prices were fair and they worked on schedule. The only problem I had was them cleaning up their materials. They were here several days and they were supposed to take their cleaning stuff and they were not to use our stuff, but they did repeatedly. The quality of their work was very good. The price was very reasonable and competitive.

My partner and I had replacement windows installed in our bedroom. The were already primed and we intended to paint them ourselves. The house is 106 years old and the trim is orignal with many coats of paint, etc. After working several evenings and one full Saturday and with only one window set of trim and one window painted, we knew we needed help. The window company suggest we call Celtic Painting and talk to Scott Keating. We called and explained our situation and asked for the painting to happen as soon as possible. They managed to work us in for the following Friday at 7am. On Friday, Joe called ( at 7:00am) and said he was running a little late and would be there by 7:30am. He came at exactly 7:30am and went to work. By about 3:30 pm the windows and trim were all painted with 2 coats of paint. He had caulked around the windows as needed and done some sanding, although we had said we could live with the imperfections. We were very satisfied with Joe's work and our experience with Celtic. The area was cleaned up, no paint anywhere it shouldn't be and Joe was very professional, quiet and effiecient. We will definitely consider this company again if we need interior painting done.

The workman was prompt for the most part. He took a week to do the work. The problems occured after the job was "finished". I had to call him to come back out the first time because the pink border paint in the small room was clearly bleeding through. He had to be called a second time because 2 of the seam cracks opened right back up. One of them opened up again 2 months later and was worse than before. The seam bulge in the hallway is still somewhat visible. The nail pops in the living/dining room were never done. I sent the supervisor who had bid the work photos of 2 walls with over two dozen nail pops that I found when I went to paint those walls myself. The master bedroom was to be spot repaired and touched up to be paint ready but one inside corner bead was clearly needing attention and was untoched and over a dozen nail pops were untouched. The supervisor & I traded emails for a while but he never once came out to see what kind of work had been done. The original workman that had been chosen to do the job by the supervisor had gotten hung up finishing another job and I think I ended up with someone with lesser skills that happened to be available to work. I would not recommend them to anyone. I primarily hired them to repair the drywall issues, but they did not do a good job on the drywall repairs. I took the Angie's List membership in an attempt to find better quality contractors and am surprised to see them here. Be wary if you should choose to use them. The price was mid range compared to the other bids that I had taken but the quality of workmanship & skill was very disappointing. They also did not come back out & make the work right.
Response from Celtic Painting
"We stongly disagree with the member assement, we did come back out to address the issues that he had concerns with and we repaired the areas directed to be done. At that time we also took care of a number of issues pointed out by the client but not part of the scope of work as we understood it. We did this without question or charge. We also feel that the client had unreasonable expectations on the job and regardless of what we did we where not going to be able to satisfy the client. His commment to take pride in what we do, though I am sure good advice in his view, could not be further from the truth. We contract and complete over 300 jobs per year with over 70% of those being repeat or refferal customers and you simply can not generate that amount of good will by doing shoddy work or not taking pride in what you do. We regrett that the client was unhappy with the work that we did and how it met his expectations but we feel that what he was expecting and what he asked for where entirely different things."

Kevin came punctually to do the estimate. Took his time to get thorough measurements and exact details of areas to be painted. Estimate came in the mail a few days later. Joe did most of the work by himself though there was a second worker here for the first day. They both did a great job and were very courteous. Worked hard, precisely and steadily for several days until the job was complete. Also took precautions to protect areas not being painted and cleaned up well daily and when the project was complete.

They did a great job. They were punctual and came when they were supposed to in the morning, and they cleaned up after themselves every day. And cleaning up the wallpaper was not an easy task.

Celtic did an excellent job. They were prompt with their estimates, showed up for work when scheduled, were professional in their work and cleaned up after themselves. Solid quality. We would not hesitate to use them again.

Best painters I ever used. From the office people, to the men that showed up, on time, in uniform! They were professional, thorough and we were very pleased with the work.
