"Although this service was performed back in May of 2015, we do appreciate the feedback. A happy loyal customer is our best business card. Thank you for choosing Big Bend Auto Center."
"A shop can't ask for a better rating than A. Thank you!"
"No matter the size of the job, we strive to provide excellent customer service. Your positive comments reinforce this commitment to quality service."
GIVES ME PEACE OF MIND. LAST WEEK WHEN I HAD MY NEW USED CAR TOWED TO THEM THEY WERE VERY VERY BUSY HOWEVER MADE TIME FOR ME.
APPRECIATE ALL THE GOOD WORK AND NICE HUMANE DEEDS THEY DO FOR ME AND ALL OTHERS I'VE REFERRED TO THEM. THE OWNER RUNS A TIGHT SHIP AND EVERY GUY IS SO VERY PROFESSIONAL!
"Your positive comments are most welcome. We are fortunate to have customers such as this. Referrals are always welcome. Thank you for choosing Big Bend Auto Center"
"This customer traveled quite far to come to our shop. We are happy the service was satisfactory. Thank you for choosing Big Bend Auto Center!"
"We strive to be punctual. At times, we may not be fast, but we are thorough and that is what makes the job turn out right. Thank you for choosing Big Bend Auto Center!"
"We are aware of most dealer warranties, and do our best to help our customer with the process. Fortunately this high-dollar repair was covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Thank you for choosing Big Bend Auto Center!"
"We realize there are many auto repair shops between this customer's home and Big Bend Auto Center. Our efforts at providing top-tier service and a competitive pricing structure are rewarded by continued patronage of this customer and many others like them. Thank you for choosing Big Bend Auto Center!"
"This customer is a valued friend of Big Bend Auto Center. When our efforts are praised, we know we are "doing it right" Thank you for your accolades!"
"We are not sure why this customer is unhappy. They came to us wanting an oil change and a tune up. She did not request that we call with an estimate. We performed the work the customer wanted, the work was done correctly and finished on schedule. We called to let her know the vehicle was ready and gave her the total over the phone. When she picked the vehicle up, she did not seem upset about the price, and if she was, we would have gladly explained the charges in detail, avoiding this situation entirely. Obviously, the customer has never had a tune up performed on this vehicle, so she should not be justified in saying " I have never paid this amount previously". Also, giving us a C grade on Quality, Responsiveness, Punctuality and Professionalism does not make sense since we excelled in each of those areas. The labor time to replace the 6 spark plugs in a 2006 Saturn Vue V6 is 1.4 hours. We also cleaned the throttle plate and scanned the computer for codes and failure trends. The total labor charge for the tune up was $142.50 which is $95.00/hour (our labor rate) times 1.5 hours. The spark plugs we installed are Iridium, which is an expensive spark plug, but what is recommended. A less expensive copper spark plug is available, but using a non-approved spark plug could turn on the check engine light due to a misfire. Less expensive spark plugs have to be replaced more often, so installing a premium spark plug is financially wise. The 6 Iridium spark plugs were $119.94 so our charges are right in line with what other shops would charge using comparable parts and an ASE Certified Master Technician with Advanced L1 qualifications performing the repairs. It is unfortunate that a supposed lack of communication and perceived high prices have displeased this customer. We have attached a scan of our work order for review."
The transmission on my car failed at about 90,000 miles. Big Bend Auto Care acquired a rebuilt transmission for the exact make, model and year of my car with only about 40,000 miles on it. The car was in the shop for the repair only a couple of days, which I knew going in. The cost for the transmission and labor was $2400, which beat my expectation!
I have been using Big Bend Auto for a few years now and they have always been accommodating, regardless of the complexity of the repair. I surely will be returning whenever I have need of auto repairs/maintenance.
"We are always pleased to hear that a customer was very satisfied with our service. Thank you for your continuing business."
We picked up the car, said our good-byes, my daughter drove home to her St Louis apartment and I headed to the airport to catch my flight. Very grateful to Tom and the other guys at Big Bend Auto for coming through for me!
"Even with the hectic schedule because of the Labor Day weekend, we were able to accommodate this customer. An ASE Certified Master Technician (CMAT) with the L1 Advanced Engine Performance Certification was assigned to your vehicle, meaning the repairs were done correctly. Thank you for choosing Big Bend Auto Center. If your daughter's Escape needs any service, please give us a call."
"This customer has been coming to us for many years, and has always had a pleasant experience as far as we know. We are flabbergasted that he did not stop in to discuss this first. Comparing a $59.95 brake job to what we did is like comparing apples to a cider mill. The customer brought the vehicle to us for the Missouri Safety and Emissions inspection. We found that the brake pads were too thin, which is normal for a vehicle with over 60000 miles .We always replace the brake rotors since they are the other half of the friction surface. Some shops machine the rotors and reinstall them, but this machining operation removes metal from the rotor, making it thinner. Thin metal warps faster than thick metal, so it is our policy to replace brake rotors with a brake job. Other shops do nothing to the rotors, trying to compete with the non-existent $59.95 "reline". A normal brake job includes replacing the front brake pads and rotors, lubricating the caliper slides and mounts, and cleaning and adjusting the rear brake shoes. This is typically about $250.00 parts and labor using quality parts and having an experienced, ASE certified technician perform the repair. A week later, the customer returned complaining of a low brake pedal. We found that the master cylinder was bypassing internally. Again, it is not uncommon to have a master cylinder fail at 60000 miles. Some last longer, others less. We replaced the master cylinder, and the low pedal complaint was resolved. We believe we charged a fair price compared to other shops in the vicinity. When a price is visualized without knowledge of what is involved, anything above that conceived price is considered "too expensive" even though the price quoted is in line with other shops. As far as the F grade on Quality, Responsiveness, Punctuality and Professionalism, our past reviews on this site offer proof that we routinely receive an A grade on these categories."
Many shops advertise $59.99 front or rear relines. Even with extraordinary extras, I could not conceive of a $400 bill!
I have my copy of the bill, and am willing to provide a copy of same.
Since I am now a proud member of Angie's list I have a means to address this issue. Thank you.
"This customer has been coming to us for many years, and has always had a pleasant experience as far as we know. We are flabbergasted that he did not stop in to discuss this first. Comparing a $59.95 brake job to what we did is like comparing apples to a cider mill. We determined the fault was with the master cylinder, which caused the brake pedal to go to the floor because the fluid was bypassing internally. As part of our complete brake inspection, we always pull all 4 wheels and check each wheel. We saw the front brake pads were thin and recommended that they should be replaced at this time. We always replace the brake rotors since they are the other half of the friction surface. Some shops machine the rotors and reinstall them, but this machining operation removes metal from the rotor, making it thinner. The master cylinder replacement is the other $150.00 of the job. We believe we charged a fair price compared to other shops in the vicinity. "Your positive comments reinforce our commitment to service. Thank you for your glowing endorsement, and we hope to see you when the timing belt needs to be replaced."
"Thank you for the positive comments! We appreciate our customers, and try to make the experience as convenient as possible. Thank you again!"
