Initial contact with Karen was good, she came out on time to our newly constructed home, measured the closet and showed us what design she had in mind.  We received a quote a couple of days later and decided to go with them as we were trying to save time and stress by having someone else take care of this closet as it was large, my husband had done the rest of the closets in the home.  The installer came out on July 2nd as planned, my husband was home for installation.  Apparently the measurements were wrong, so part of the closet was installed, we had to make an appointment to finish at a later date when the correct size came in.  When I got home, I walked in our closet and the first thing I noticed was the smell of smoke (cigarette).  I asked my husband if the intallers were smokers, he said he didn't know.  He said he noticed a funny smell, but thought it would go away.  The next day, I still could still smell the smoke, my husband agreed, it smelled like smoke.  I should have called right away, but we thought it might dissipate on it's own.  When the installer returned to finish the job, I was home and I could smell smoke on the installer.  After he finished the job, I called Karen to tell her about the smoke smell.  She had the owner in the office with her, he assured me that our closet unit pieces were not exposed to smoke.  He said they wipe the units down with acetone after installation, there should not be any smoke smell.  I assured him my closet did smell like smoke.  He suggested giving it a couple of days to see if it would go away, he believed it was in the air, not on the closet unit.  By that evening, I couldn't take the smell any longer and was concerned about the smell getting into my new walls and carpet.  I called Karen on her cell phone that evening (after hours), she answered her phone and said she would talk to the owner the next day (Saturday).  In the meantime, she suggested putting a bowl of ammonia in the closet to absorb the odor.  We went online to find suggestions to remove smoke smell, one suggestion was the bowl of ammonia, along with baking soda on the carpet and wiping down the unit with vinegar.  My husband went to the store to buy these items, then spent an hour wiping down the unit and sprinkling baking soda.  We also put an air purifier machine in the closet.  We gave it two days, removed the ammonia and vacuumed the carpet.  It seemed to have worked.  I heard from the owner a day later, he was trying to track down why the closet unit had that odor and could not solve the mystery.  I believe that the installer most likely was smoking in the van with our unit.  I told him we resolved the issue ourselves, outlining the steps we took.  We were not happy that we had decided to have someone else do this closet to save time and stress, and it ended up causing us time and stress.  I'm not going to give this company an F, my concerns were addressed, I think it should have been taken a little more seriously than it was.  Overall, if you decide to use this company and do not want a closet that smells like smoke, it would be a good idea to tell them upfront that you would prefer a non-smoking installer.  The unit itself is satisfactory.

Designer came to the home to measure the areas of interest and then developed a design offsite. She emailed the design and price to us. We asked for some changes and she made them. After we signed the agreement she scheduled an installation date. The installer showed up as scheduled and installed the organizer in the closet and most of the pieces in the laundry room. He chose to alter the design to better accomodate a HVAC vent. However, the change was going to require a second trip to complete the installation. He returned as scheduled to compete the installation. We pointed out a couple of defects and he corrected them before leaving. He left the areas clean before leaving.
