We used Banner to install new siding on our home this year and had a HORRIBLE experience! First I should say the product, James Hardie siding, is very nice and the craftsmanship of the trades was great. However dealing with our so-called project manager, Bill Hindman, made this an awful experience! There was NO project planning whatsoever from the day we signed the contract until the very end! We unfortunately had to play that role, even though we spent tens of thousands of dollars. The communication was awful to non-existent unless we were overly persistent, and even then, the response was to send out another trades person who was completely unfamiliar with with what needed to be done, per our contract. Then if all that wasn’t bad enough, Bill Hindman, lied and said he visited our house 13-15 times! My husband and I work from home and know for an absolute fact he visited our home 4 times! 4 times during a 4 month project! To say I am upset is an understatement! I have worked in the construction industry for over 10 years and have NEVER seen a project so poorly handled! Bill wouldn’t even come do a final walk-thru, per the contract, to collect the check; he sent someone else to collect the money! Please do yourself a favor and avoid this company and especially Bill Hindman as the PM! The stress and grief that you’ll endure isn’t worth the product’s allure! Plus there is finally a second company in town that is now authorized to install James Hardie; wish they would have been authorized prior to us going with Banner!!

I have used Banner Construction for my home improvement projects for the last two decades. They deliver great products at a great price and personally manage the entire process. A couple of years ago, Banner did a total re-siding of my home in Old Town Clayton using James Hardie siding and beautiful wood windows to bring my home back to its original luster. I’m grateful to Bill Kaufman and his dedicated team for the work they have done for me.

Excellent! Working with our salesman, Sam is always a pleasure! Paul and Justin were the best. They were professional, prompt, kind and did VERY good work! We are getting many compliments from our neighbors about how beautiful our entrance is! Great quality too.

They were there when they said they would be; they brought a master installer and an apprentice; they were respectful of our home; and there were no problems. We purchased Beechworth windows and have been very satisfied with the quality. Our energy bills have reflected the savings and our home is much quieter. The windows are beautiful. We would definitely use Banner Construction again.

Came to the condo and went over ideas with us.  Worked with us in ideas that we chose. Told us where to find thins and save a little money.  Project went great.  Started and finished on time.  Very neat.  Looks great

Our project manager was very professional.  I asked for several quotes: with and without gutter/spouts, ceiling veneer, soffits, etc. I asked many questions: lien waivers, insurance, contractors, materials, warranties, etc. I asked our project manager to visit the work site between the installation of fascia/soffits and the installation of the gutter/spouts to inspect the work.  He satisfied all these request and went above and beyond to explain everything in detail. He worked with me to consider all my options. 







I am giving Banner all A's except for a B under quality.  The rotten fascia boards that were originally a single board length were replaced by a new single board length of wood with the exception of one section of fascia.  I asked the contractor why they used two scrap board lengths to replace one board length.  They said something to the effect that it was typical to do so because (a) the fascia does not support anything and (b) the two lengths were secured. I would have personally installed a single length of wood. Anyway, this was minor.







I considered two very comparably priced bids. I was glad I chose Banner and will seek their expertise in the future.

Fine! Elmer's English was good, arrived and worked steadily. Did a beautiful job.

This was a major undertaking - replacing a large amount of 30 year old Masonite siding with Hardie siding. I was tired of painting and patching.

To complicate issue, there were a number of architectural details that need to be preserved in the process -  the crown/dentil moldings and window pediments.

I had three bidders. The difference was obvious from the start. I had prepared detailed specs of what was important to me and did a  walk-thru with each firm. Banner was the only one  that understood the details and integrated them into the contract without an additional meeting. Only two firms bid the project on time and I chose Banner. There was minimal difference in the prices.

What  amazing crews (siding and painting)!  Some of the job required work on a second story section that was above a cedar shake roof with a 12:12 pitch. Siding and painting crews were able to handle this without a problem and no damage to an expensive roof.

Removal of the siding exposed old termite damage. They replaced 16 feet of rim joist.

Window pediments were custom shop-built to exactly match the pediments elsewhere on the house.

The house was wrapped in Tyek and carefully sealed at all window openings. This alone is a huge improvement over the original 1985 construction standards.

The project manager was on site at key points in the process and always available by phone. Siding and painting crews were  hard working and perfectionists!

I had good service from Banner Construction Co. Their customer service was excellent, their workers were professional, and they were reasonable on the price. The work turned out excellent.

They were just great.  The man came out and showed us how they work and they came in and they did a great job.  They cleaned up everything and took everything away.  It was done practically overnight.  It was a very positive experience and it was so positive that we referred our neighbors, since our neighbors were looking for windows.  They used Banner Construction for their whole house.  We have big windows; they are not normal size windows.  It is like 2 windows together.  We like the windows and we clean them, they tilt and they do all kinds of things.  The only thing they don’t do is they don’t clean themselves.  Price wise, they are probably the same as everyone else’s.  New windows are not inexpensive.  They were right in the middle, not more not less.  We would recommend them, use them in the future and in fact I am not sure why my husband is having another provider coming out to do the upstairs windows because Banner was so successful.  I think he is hoping to get a cheaper price.

It was good. They were really nice. One of the owners came to our house and talk to us about the siding options and stuff and they were really helpful. Their pricing was the same as the estimates we got.

They were very good. I thought they were professional. He explained the difference between their service and the same service I had done by another company. I thought the overall outcome was more satisfactory than the other company I used, Lakeside Exteriors.

We have a brick home with partial siding. They worked on the siding around my garage door, and to this day, I was never able to get them to come back out and redo their job regarding our siding. Once a man did come out and agreed the work was unacceptable, but afterwards I got the runaround and finally had to give up. Just this last year, I had replaced my garage door and this second company straightened out my issue. Also, we have a covered patio running about 30’ with skylights in it. We wanted to make it look nicer, and Banner put up 6x6 columns along the roof. The aftermath was acceptable, but it was tough time working with them. They did not clean up after themselves at the end of the day, and they left quite a mess. A couple of times, the lead man on the job got an emergency call and just up-and-left. The columns got scratched, and when I addressed this with them, one man handed me a small tub of paint and said "here is the touch up paint, you can touch that up". One thing they did that is nice was they send someone to your home whosits down to go over the project with you, and gives an estimate. But then, a foreman comes out to try to change the work that would make it cheaper, but they do not lower the cost. I had to constantly fight him to keep what I wanted. On the last day, a man asked for a check for the remaining payment. I did not have the funds readily available and was not prepared to send him back to the office with the funds. I was so aggrivated with them. The next day someone came out and I told him that I wasn't 100% happy. I asked them to mail me a bill so I could pay it. I was threatened to not get my warranties on anything until the bill was paid. Shortly after we did pay them, our gutters were leaking and they subcontracted the work. They kept saying they would send out the subcontractors, but they would not give me their name. They never came. I had to hire a different company to fix this problem. I would not recommend this company.

THE GAL THAT CAME OUT WAS A VERY HARD WORKER. I DECIDED TO GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY DUE TO COST BUT I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THEM.

THEY WEREN'T VERY PROMPT WITH SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT TO REPAIR THE DOORS, AND I CAN STILL SEE DAYLIGHT THROUGH THE CRACK IN THE DOOR.

THEY WERE COURTEOUS AND NICE PEOPLE.

I ENJOYED WORKING WITH EVERYONE, BUT THE SALESWOMEN DID NOT TELL ME THE TRUTH. SHE WAS TOO CONCERNED WITH MAKING EVERYONE HAPPY RATHER THAN TELLING ME THE TRUTH.
