We were getting a new driveway installed and needed to mark off the sprinklers as well as reconfigure the system , the driveway job had to be rescheduled due to change in weather forecast and we called them pressed for time. They went out of their way and came in on short notice. Pleasant and professional service. Hope the install that comes later will also go well. So far so good. Will review again once job completed. Good people , polite and professional.

This is the third consecutive season we have had Alternative Rain service our sprinkler system. All appointments have been kept on time, and service has been friendly and professional with an eye to minimizing repair costs (our system is over 25 years old).

I called many places last minute due to a coming snow storm and no one had people available. I called Alternative Rain and they were able to come winterize my system that same day. Friendly professional people. I will definitely be calling them back in the spring.

Don't really understand how the valve works, but ran water through it and said was working fine. Replaced pipe section without problem.

They are always on time, courteous and professional. They do a great job whenever they visit, no matter if it is in the spring to open the sprinkler system or fall to winterize. I am very happy with their service and recommend them to others.

Everything was excellent. Paul and Shawn completed everything that they had contracted to do. I couldn't be happier.

They were good and the job went good. They did great and I do not know of anything that they can improve. Their price was also good.

I was very happy with Paul's work! He did a great job digging up the yard to move / install the new sprinklers. I expected to have several bare lines in the yard that I would have to seed, but he managed to dig it up so that he could just put it all back like it was. I could hardly tell from looking at the yard that any work was done.
I had definite ideas of exactly what I wanted to have done, and had already bought all the material ahead of time. He was careful to explain that there would probably be issues with water pressure, but I had him go ahead. When there was water pressure issues (big shock... I know, I should listen to the experts), he was ready with a simple solution that didn't require any more work (just different sprinkler heads that used less water).
Paul did a great job and I look forward to working with him on future projects!

He was very good at what he did - and checked with me before he proceeded with any work. Could not have been more pleased.

Went excellent. Paul showed up on time and completed the winterization of my system thoroughly. He does most of his check-out of your system during spring startup. A year ago during the winterization he found problems with my main valve that goes into the house. He told me he was not a fan of the valve my original comapny used but he knew why they used it. It is cheaper.
He mentioned that the one he likes that stands up to many years of service is a bit more expensive. But not to worry, he had parts with him to rebuild the parts of this valve and saved me a ton of money. If it ever really breaks, I'll upgrade to the one he recommends.
This time I had noticed one of my junction boxes had a lid that would fall into the box. I have young kids next door and did not want them to twist an ankle because of this. Paul came back a different day with a new box, dug it out and replaced it and put on a new lid. He really had to work because it was obvious what had happened previously. The original company ran into a big rock where they were putting this box and cut their box up to fit around it. Well, that ruined the integrity of the box and caused the box to deform allowing the lid to fall in. Paul dug the rock out and put his box in correctly. His price for doing this was extremely reasonable.

When I made the appointment I spoke directly to Paul, the owner and only employee. We scheduled the appointment easily. He showed up on time (a few minutes early) and was at the house for about 2 hours starting the system, adjusting the heads, testing the backflow, and replacing two rotor heads. He also advised on taking the spray nozzle off when having the stump ground out to be able to reuse it since I had spare spray heads but not nozzles. He was very thorough, informative, and patient with all my questions and truly made me feel like I have an irrigation guy now. His rates were better than others I've been quoted and I like that I have one guy to go to instead of a company that sends me a different guy each time.

Paul (owner) showed up on time. He went down to the basement and turned the water on to the system. Next he tested the backflow valve, He wrote up the forms required to be turned in to St. Louis County. Then he ran through all the zones and attended to all the sprinkler heads. He ended up having to replace 2 rotors because the original ones no longer rotated. After this he made a simple program to turn on one zone for 5 minutes to have water moving through the backflow valve to protect it from freezing. We have frost warnings for StL tonight. He set the program to come on 3 times (midnight, 2:30 am and 5:30am). This is a good thing to have set up for either end of the season in case the temps will be getting low before your system is winterized.
This is a one man company. Staffed by a person who has been in the Lawn irrigation service for many years as the head of Installation crews. His rates are a bit lower than the larger established Sprinkler companies but then he has low overhead. He is extremely personable and very prompt and efficient. Last year my backflow valve had issues. He spent quite a while trying to repair it because replacing it is expensive. He succeeded with his repair and the parts charge was very reasonable. Then when he winterized it he did it without taking the backflow valve apart (taking it apart is a common a common practice because it is quicker and easier). Most of the problems that happen with backflow valves happen when they are put back together. By avoiding this step you prevent problems.
I started with him last year because I got a card in the mail from his company offering lower startup and shutdown prices and figured I'd give him a try. I am very pleased with his work and plan on using him from now on. This is his 2nd season in business and I've used him both seasons. He does not have a good web presence yet, so use the phone number. You won't be sorry.
