Advocate Construction MO

We worked with Houghton at Advocate Construction to have our roof replaced! He was very easy to work with and was prompt in responding to any of our questions. The process was seamless and we are very happy with the new roof and gutters. Highly recommend!

Started my process in January this year for a new roof, siding, gutters, facia. The roof was replaced in April, and I was told the other work would start a couple weeks later. After a month of not hearing anything, I write a review and receive a phone call that day with a date for additional work. The job still isn’t finished yet, and the gutter work was done in June. No communication from this company at all on when it will be done. Very disappointing.

Tim Flynn and his team did an awesome job on my roof and gutters. They were easy to work with my insurance. They were courteous and professional all the way through the entire job.

Advocate has been wonderful to work with. Devin Barnett and the rest of the crew has been readily available for any and all questions. They worked with our insurance company to get our house project going, and “advocated” for us every step of the way!

Devin was super helpful and got our project on track quickly and worked with the insurance company so we didn’t have to deal with that hassle!

Ok- these two guys stopped at our house and clearly explained what they were about and we weren’t obligated whatsoever on a inspection of our roof. They said we had damage and felt that an insurance inspection was needed. Ok great but now what. We called for a claim and our insurance company sent out an inspector. Ok this is where they clearly are out of this world. They came at the agreed time the insurance inspector came and was with him the whole time. We were awarded a new roof with just our deductible. They did all the work with our mortgage company and clearly stated what was going to happen. We planned a trip when they did the roof so we didn’t even have the noise, etc. The work was incredible- removed the satellite dish, replaced rotten plywood, laid paper, left absolutely no debris, and used magnets to pick up nails in the yard. You cannot get a finer company with such care and individual concern for your property. Matt Crowley is the MAN! For those of you apprehensive and have been burned by others- Advocate Construction is your dream company to handle your needs. For those of you not sure- give them a call - you aren’t out anything and they will be straight forward and honest with you. I had no previous knowledge about them but now I do. Absolutely the best roofing company out there. Thanks again Matt.

Initial Review: Zero stars on this one. Please please please stay away from these guys at all costs. Friendly canvassing sales team, but it stops there. The installation crew did not step flash anything which caused several water leaks. They broke almost all of my bottom rows of siding and JChannel but did not bother to tell me. The icing on the cake however is that they billed my insurance company for code items such as ice and water shield and drip edge, but did not install any.**Edit**(they claimed that they have photos of ice and water shield being installed which is great, no issues there). This is flat out fraudulent and this company should lose their license in my opinion over something like that. DO NOT work with them. **Update 12/3 - The sales rep, construction manager who patched some of their sub-par flashing, and then the sales and production managers for the St Louis market stopped by today. I was under the impression this was to resolve the issues at hand, however instead the sales manager immediately began berating me for this review. The attitude presented was extremely aggressive, and after pushback from me they essentially attempted to position themselves as victims since I didn't call them before outlining the situation at hand for prospective clients. Rather than discuss possible resolutions, Advocate's stance is that this was a simple "mistake" and that they will pay back my insurance company as resolution. In terms of construction; they then claim that by bending down some of my fascia wrap, this constitutes as drip edge and the roof is sound. Do a bit of research on current code and proper building practice around drip edge and you'll be certain that this is not something that should be done. I am still in pursuit of a just resolution here and to get my roof up to current building code. I will update if this is made right.

Advocate Roofing did an excellent job in replacing my roof. The new roof looks fantastic. The company's representative, Jordan Soaib, was extremely punctual, always available when I had a question. I would definitely deal with him again.

Great! Advocate rep inspected roof, contacted insurance company who sent out adjuster to verify damage. Picked out new shingles, architecture shingles are standard for them, insurance adjuster cut a check for us on the spot. We paid a deposit to advocate so supplies could be ordered. Contacted when supplies were iin,. Job scheduled, job completed in one day. Workers were very good, cleaned up after themselves, very courteous and conscientious. Salesman, Ahee, was great. Came out the next day to inspect the job personally and inspected property to be sure no nails or debris was left behind. I was truly skeptical of this company because I had seen a low rating on Angie's list. I really grilled the salesman and his supervisor and also checked them out thoroughly with our insurance company who assured us that they had dealt with Advocate before and there were no problems. Insurance checks are made to us directly in the event that something did not go well. No problem whatever... Job done as promised and is beautiful. I highly recommend this company. I'm a tough customer and it takes a lot to impress me but Advocate passed all the tests with flying colors!

They were professional, on time, and thoroughly cleaned up the mess.

I highly recommend Advocate Construction, here in St. Louis, MO. They were so helpful from start to finish with our insurance claim project (new roof, gutters, fascia, window wraps and some siding) and so patient and accommodating with my own fickleness, I can't say enough good about them as a company to work with. We live in Maplewood, MO, in a very old house (near 100 years old). I was very afraid that our roof repair would lead into very costly other repairs too, and Advocate was so wonderful to work with. They knew my concerns and if anything new was found that was not already on our insurance claim, that was related to it, they contacted our claim rep and worked it out. They really live up to their name, they 'advocate' on your behalf to your Insurance Company. We had little to do but pick out colors. I checked both the BBB and Angie's List on them before signing a contract. Being they were a little new in St. Louis, they didn't have a lot of reviews. But all they did have were positive! (unlike some other very well-known St. Louis roofers). So we signed the contract and were pleased from start to finish. They have wonderful employees, but one in particular stood out with our job, Joe. He was amazing to us. He worked with my husband and took the lead on things we would not have even thought about, kept all promises, and was just very on-top of our claim. Amazing! He made it very easy for us. Thank you very much Advocate Construction! (and especially Joe!)

After 5 months of partial work done, no shows, no calls initiated by the company, poor quality work that had to be redone, etc., we finally settled for a discount from the company just to "get it over with", even though some of the "re-work" was not completed. Most frustrating--we had to initiate calls over and over again to find what was going on. Scheduled appointments were missed with no explanation or contact from the company. On the positive side, we were reimbursed for the pool chlorinator and landscape lighting that were broken during the job.
